I barely water mine, even though I grow them in bags. I actually find that helpful for our climate as the soil dries out quicker. I have 22 grow bags, and they all have either peppers or tomatoes in them.

Nice. Yeah they like it hot and dry! I always do better when it's hot. I will move the containers out of the rain if I have to so they only get one soak and dry out completely before watering agaon.

Yesterday I was reading an old letter from an uncle in the northern UK (yes...letter, as in paper...it was 42 years ago).
He starts the message in reply to a question I had, seeking a definition of a word he used in a previous message. The definition was :

(noun) A person, usually male, prone to making foolish statements, and acting like they know everything about everything, but having such a massive ego, they have no idea of the scorn others have for them.

Blew me away that they had a word for someone like that 40 + years ago.
Guess some things never change.

I have a Serrano plant that is now two years old, and I swear it is a lot hotter this time around. Last year they were hot, this year they are downright brutal. Almost too hot to eat and still taste the rest of the food.

Also have bells, cubanos, and tabascos. I loves me some peppers.

They say they get hotter over time. I never kept one more than one fruit cycle.

This was accidental. I actually left it to die in the sideyard behind the house and it hung in there. So, as an experiment, I cut it back and transplanted it. Fertilized the poop out of it and it came back to life with a vengeance. Definitely have gotten my money's worth out of it.

That’s awesome!! My best buddy just moved up there a month ago to be a pilot. He’s a total city slicker and he’s learning to clean fish and be a northerner. He’s always sending me videos and pics of his adventures up there. I just want to go up and ice fish for the winter. I’d need to find work, which seems like it would be challenging to find.

No dude, we have a hard time finding people. Jobs just aren’t advertised. Valard is building a massive power line and hiring huge. Good pay. Any of the airways will hire you to fuel planes and drive a forklift with all accommodations and meals provided. Side cash gigs driving stuff up over the ice are abundant.

I won’t lie, winters are tough up here, but the lifestyle is a throwback you won’t experience many other places.

Work. Play. Easy to find a balance.

Thanks a lot man!

I’ll look into all that. My buddy works for whatever airline it is that flys out of there, he said I could probably work as a rampy. But I’m no pilot in training, so idk. I’d rather not work at the airport fwiw.

No problem dude, there’s lots of work. I showed up here on a job with nothing but a duffle bag. Married the hot blonde from the Beer Store who was working on her CGA. 15 years later, life is (frank)ing fantastic.

Come down to Florida. No state taxes and all the Covid you could possibly want. New residents get priority for ventilators.

We were down in Orlando last March break and had planned on being there again this year. Aquatica is great family fun. Florida has always been fantastic no matter where we went. I hope they get a grip on things.

It got it's revenge, that's for sure.

I've had Carolina Reapers, and this is close. Not quite there, but close enough.

In all seriousness, the nature down here is awesome. Hunting fossils on the Peace River (no relation to the Canadian river) is like stepping back in time. Kayak down the river a few miles into the middle of the boonies, and it's like being in another world. I would live out there like Grizzly Adams if it was acceptable to do so. If you ever get down here again during the dry season (about October/November to April/May), hit me up and I'll take you out there to find mammoth tusks and megalodon teeth.

210% Dude.

Female doctors, teachers, medics, OPP, social workers, MNRF, truck drivers and surveyors all cut their teeth up here. Ready to party on their “Northern Tour”.

Tough to get out of here without a Good Girl. Your buddy will be hitched within a year lol.

I stopped giving Reapers I grew to people, because no matter how much you try to explain them to people, they do not fear the Reaper and think eating a whole pod is easy until they are puking, calling in sick to work, poopting the bed, etc. I've grown a lot of superhots and they still scare me. Managed never to puke yet.
