In a way, that was the best AND worst thing to happen to Steve Austin. He could put on a wrestling clinic before Vince ruined him. Same with Cena. As soon as their characters became super popular, the moves were reduced to 5 or 6 moves. It's why the hardcore/attitude stretches were so well received. Lack of actual wrestling, but big bumps and gimmick spots galore.
