A couple of details from the Twitterverse on Return to Play:
From Frank Seravalli of TSN: "Hearing #NHLPA membership voted 502-135 in favor of ratifying full CBA and RTP package. That's nearly 79 per cent in favor."
Also, players' deadline to opt out of the summer tournament will be Monday at 2 p.m. PT.
And paraphrasing Thomas Drance (and me) — the trade freeze is still on for all teams in Return to Play. No player movement can happen for months. With everything he has on his plate right now, it's highly unlikely that Jim Benning is spending his evenings drawing out trade scenarios for Brock Boeser or anybody else. - Carol Schram
Thanks Carol its all coming together. The hot topics will be the CBA, training cap, lines and roster surprises leading up to games. Once the Canuck's season is done the trade and signing options will swing into full light. |

But there's a massive new document outlining what will happen over the next few weeks and also the next few years that has just been released. There's so much real stuff to talk about!
How 'bout this tweet from Brennan Klak of TSN1260 in Edmonton. Based on that, sounds like the 2020 first-rounder now belongs to New Jersey.
'According to the NHL, if you are playing in a qualifying series, you have officially "made the postseason", which will in turn effect a few trades.' - Carol Schram
I heard no more conditional picks allowed in trades.
I would hope they deal with NCAA players that refuse to sign with their drafting teams . Make them reenter the draft.

I was really hoping they would deal with the NCAA issue in the new cap. It's really been a glaring issue and it will only get bigger considering that more and more players are going that route over junior.
(The above assumes things get back to normal and American colleges resume play.) |

Is this confirmed? That means Canucks must win against the Wild giving NJ a shot at 2020 1stOA will be a PR nightmare. |

Anything that has Boeser retaining cap money is a hard hard no.

Yeah make them redraft if they don't want to go to a team.

It's going to be funny to see your reaction when he gets a majority next election especially when he'll be running against McCay. Your whining will be deafening! 😉😂 - RealityChecker
lol I'm not a huge McKay fan but he should be able to get past the Tru-dope. SCheer wasn't the guy even though he won the popular vote. Trudeau's focus was the UN security council and now that he's botched that...he's done. You gonna cry? lol

Either am I. He’s a sniper which are not a dime a dozen but scoring has spread thru the line-up. F logjam & he has a huge value & signed for 3yrs. JB probably getting calls idk if he’s shopping him. - Nighthawk
I personally think the rumour will turn out to be nothing, but if they are considering it, I can't see how that plays well to anyone. Boeser is one of the pieces people point to when it comes to the quality of JBs drafting, if he doesn't get a monster return that pays off immediately the optics are bad. |

I really don't know this fascination about the security Council. I mean it wasn't a big deal when Harper lost it, was it?
The result means that the government of Prime Minister Stephen Harper is the first to have failed to maintain Canada’s record of winning a place on the 15-member body – the UN’s most powerful – once a decade since the United Nations’ 1945 launch.

I actually don't mind McCay. He was my choice during the merger (and he's a friend of my brother's - no joke.) |

More like zero lobbying power. Nothing in this CBA really helps out Canucks. No relief on cap recapture though other teams will get a break, losing chance of consolation shot at 1OA; Flat cap makes UFA's harder to keep and RFA's taking bridge deals instead of locked up long term; and NCAA draft picks still get to walk.
