Canucks need Boeser and Toffoli in order to take the next step.

I would want a huge return back for Boeser which I doubt Benning could accomplish.

McDavid, Eichel, Marner, Rantanen, Aho, Mathews, Makar, Pettersson is the list of players who have put up better ppg than Boeser since he's been drafted.

I might of missed someone but it's a very short list.

Yeah, I don't buy the horsepoop that he's overpaid. I mean he earns less than Beagle and Roussel, or Sutter and Benn.

I hope he continues to develop other parts of his game but even as a pure goal scorer, they're hard to come by.

I'll be disappointed if they move him in order to sign TT unless the return is amazing.

Lol, what? That's a very random comparison. It's like saying Kane isn't overpaid, because he makes less than Seabrook and Saad.

I agree Boeser's not overpaid, but the logic doesn't really add up

I'm just comparing him to other guys on the Canucks roster. He's pretty far down the list when looking at guys who's compensation exceeds their value. Maybe that clarifies the logic a little for you.

That movie was one of the worst movies of JCs careers . I don't know how many people for years would say CABLE GUY and start laughing at themselves. People are stupid

People love or hate it, it seems. The medievil times portion of that film is one of my favourite things ever done.

It doesn't really. You're comparing him by adding two people together to get a higher amount. That's not really a good comparison – it doesn't really relate to if he's overpaid or not.

By the same metric he makes more than Pettersson, Virtanen, and Hughes.

Cable Guy?

I found Broderick so incredibly boring ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I was really disappointed with the movie . I could tell you true to life stories that would have you in stitches. Some of the things I have seen man I still laugh at them 20 years later.

Well EP and QH are on their entry level deals so it really isn't the same metric whatsoever.

Boeser provides more to the team than any two of those players, maybe all four. Those are illustrations of some poopty contracts Benning has on his resume. Boeser is one of his better deals.

He overpaid thing is a lot more grey than black and white in my books but isn't even on my radar regarding Boeser. The nucks finally are seeing some talented players arrive, they need to hang on to them.

This might not be popular here but I would prefer to move a 1st and prospect to shed Eriksson than move a guy like Boeser, assuming it's not a haul.

Benning detractor or not...

It was consensus the rebuild needed patience. Yes the retool on the fly was a bad idea but wasn’t a 1 man show. How it delayed growth is arguable. Trev is gone & JB has it going in the right direction no doubt there. Cap situation is the bone all us dogs are chewing on. Is it truly slowing us down or an issue created by the team improving faster? Patience not long ago & now it’s higher expectations. This a good thingy & a sign of JB’s plan working. UFA signings are an easy target & are for most teams around the league. They are not known to be a fix often but usually fill holes for need. I give JB a D+ on UFA’s at best. Contract resigning a B. Drafting A-. Trading a C+. Capology C but easily higher with an astute move or 2. Organizational depth from players to management B+.

On hiring Green...

Green has developed the kids pretty good imo. His test is to come these PO’s. It could define his tenure here. It can also put him under the microscope very easily. He has a much better roster than when he began & it’s on him to earn our faith. If the Canucks crap the bed with Minny steam rollin us the vigilantes will want his head. He needs success.

He got the Horvat and Boeser contracts right. Also the trade for Miller is one of the best trades in the last 5 years. But ya, he’s only good at drafting and hasn’t gotten better at anything.

Yes.

I just like Carey's character, I'm also a big fan Me, Myself and Irene which I know many hate.

I'd prefer to not re-sign TT than either of those scenarios. He's not even my top impending FA priority. It's either Markstrom or another goalie. I haven't seen enough from Demko to hand him the reigns yet.

I bet you despite what is written here Benning will be working the phones to move Sven and Loui. He may get no offers but he could buy out one of them but you can be assured he will spend many hours trying to get rid of them.

Even if he does get rid of them he still wants to get a quality Dman here and that is still going to require a person of value going back the other way.

They have a hole on D that should be fixed .

Benning will be looking at multiple ways to bring in a quality Dman I assume. The only players that could bring back suck a piece and that are expendable are Boeser or Jake . They would bring back different value Dmen of course.

The coaching needs fixing before the defense, which isn't in bad shape for a top four.

2yrs left on LE is a difficult trade to make.
Trade a 1st is the obvious answer. I rather bury his ass in Utica & force his hand. Canucks owe him nothing & wouldn’t hurt our credibility in the future. Idc about his salary down there. An ELC who earns his spot is a better trade off.

If Boeser is a trade chip or not I equate him as a top 6-8 pick in this draft. Hockey trade then a top 4 D. That is not meaning LHD but a solid compliment for when either OJ or Rathbone are ready. I like David Savard or something comparable. Other options out there idk but feel free to give input.

Yeah, i'm going to continue to reserve judgement on this one. It hasn't played out yet.

JB gets as much or more credit around here than he does criticism. He's had a fairly long leash as I believe he's already in the top half of tenure among GM's.

Aside from the team he inherited, he's yet to make the playoffs. Criticizing him is fair game despite the addition of some exciting young talent.

That’s a fair assessment but guarded at that. These PO’s & next season will make it more clear for me so I can judge him better.
