You can in the situation I suggested. As long as the iced team in any particular game is under the cap.

The team actual payroll could be whatever you wanted, as long as the roster for any particular game is under the cap.

as long as that comes with a huge luxury tax on the entire roster I'd listen

Rather not be quite so old but beats the alternative
- Canada Cup

The alternative being the 9-5 grind?

Government takes people coming in from virus land seriously. Those are max penalties obviously.

It’s a bigger issue once season starts and teams are going back and forth through Florida

- Canada Cup

Toronto being a hub city for the NHL does make it a bit more challenging though.. Multiple MLB and NHL teams in the same city..

You just confirmed it. You don't understand the cap. The cap is to ensure the 50/50 spit of HRR between the players and the league. Your suggestion doesn't make any sense.

Alright, I'm out.

I'm glad we have a cap expert here to explain the real reason for the cap.

I always assumed the real reason for the cap was simply because the nhl hates the Maple Leafs.

NHL is fine. They come and stay. Everything is set. Outings are organized, golf times are set, etc. They all stay in the hub.

MLB teams are coming and going all the time. After a while players are going to get a bit more casual especially when they come to Canada where it is safer.

I would much rather have Jays play in Buffalo

Sorry, I have been reliably informed that the only reason for the cap is to ensure a 50/50 revenue split.

Ignore the fact that the revenue split could easily be achieved without the cap. That is irrelevant.

Also the cap has nothing to do with parity. All cap experts know this.

It doesn't take an expert to know why the cap is in place. You think that you can just put a player in the press box and not play him and he doesn't count. As if he's not being paid now and not taking a piece of HRR.

How can the revenue split easily be achieved without the cap?

We know what happened with the revenue split before the cap was implemented.

Leafs have cap issues but Vancouver gonna trade Boeser?

Matt Sekeres: I'm told the Canucks are exploring the possibility of trading Brock Boeser.

I didn't mention any specific team. A lot of teams are going to have cap issues. There is no way any GM could've predicted what happened.

Up to $750,000 and possible jail for any Jays breaking quarantine. I sure hope they apply that to all teams if they play games here

And Trump can’t pardon them either.

I think you'd also have to add the maximum contracts per team constraint as well (currently this is set to 50).

If by some miracle he's good enough to actually get into some games, it'd be amazing.
