I think the boeser rumours are more smoke than fire. Likely some reporter spitballing possibilities. Boeser is on a great contract for what he brings when healthy and if it comes between re-signing him or re-signing toffoli, Tanev or to a lesser extent markstrom they should be picking boeser every time. Only reason to move boeser would be if the Canucks can get a player of equal value who can stay more healthy than the injury prone boeser. If benning were to trade a 23 year old piece of his core that’s on the verge of turning a corner for futures he should be canned immediately.
As for Detroit acquiring him I think it all depends on the pieces. Based on if the Canucks lose the playoffs there pick goes to the devils and if not or either way that’s way to far back in the draft for Detroit to move back to make it worth it. I’m not totally sure wether Detroit has the pieces to make this transaction possible, but if you’re looking for a fair trade I would estimate something like the wings 2021 first with top 5 protection that defers to 2022. |

It’s a head scratcher, for sure. If Vancouver is really moving a player that good, they want a very specific return. That draft return could work. I have to think they’d want a player that they’ve scouted. Vancouver has good Euro scouts. Maybe Berggren has moved the needle in some way, but there would still have to be more than that (in my opinion only).
Is there any “taboo” that would keep VAN and CGY from making deals? I know EDM is a big no-no in the battle for Alberta.

If SY wants a young scoring RW Boeser asking for Seider isn’t outta the question. |

It’s a fair price, just may be too hard for a club without much Defense. Bowser is a stud for sure |

Maybe it's Boeser, and Juolevi (who's probably ready for perfected minutes on the 3rd pair in the NHL) for Seider, another top prospect (Velano, or the Russian) and Detroit's first rounder 2021 with only top 3 protection, else 2022 unprotected. |

Agree & Wings need many pieces so this might not help. Lots to do & many choices are ahead. |

Those two just played a game of 'pass the trash' last season with Neal and Lucic. You never know. |

Makes absolutely zero sense for Detroit. |

I don't see a fit unless the Canucks are looking for a winger prospect or two and the Wings can't afford to be giving up 1st round picks with how bad they will still be for the next 2 or 3 years still. Wings can not afford to deal center or defense prospects like Veleno or Seider. The one position they do have a bit of depth at is on the wings so dealing for Boeser doesn't make sense to me.
Wings should be looking for (depending on who they draft at 4) a 2nd line center, a top end left handed defenseman or a youngish goalie (maybe Murray in Pitts?). They need to get those either by drafting them, signing them or trading (without creating more holes). |

I hope the Canucks never trade Brock Boeser, if they do they will regret it. I see 40 to 50 goal scorer if ever gets a healthy season in or reaches his potential. He is the real deal, reminds me of Anthony Mantha, but younger at 23, a potential star on the verge of breaking through. |

Seriously doubt the Flames and Nucks could make an in division trade of that magnitude. BB is a great player and citizen by all accounts but his injury issues have likely impacted his trade value somewhat. If all he brings back in a trade is a mid to late 1st rounder Jim Benning hangs up the phone pretty quick.. |

That’s completely fair. The team has so many glaring needs, wing may be the least “desperate”. Well done |

He is a stud, for sure. It depends on the piece they get, but it would be tough watching him put up numbers like that somewhere else |

Absolutely. This is a multi piece player. Player/prospect/pick. Player/2 high picks, etc.
Division trades have to be tough to pull off, for sure |

For as desperate as defense is for Detroit, it isn’t. Player for player in a vacuum could work, but Detroit can’t take a step back on defense. Good stuff feds |

So, lols, the reason I think the trade I proposed works is that it gives Detroit two pieces they can use straight away to get better. Both Juolevi(defense, top 4 overall pick), and Boeser , Calder nominee, are known quantities, especially Boeser.
While the Canucks get cap relief and decent potential back. No guarantee any top five pick will pan out. Look at yak, and many others that never did much. So it's a still a risk Canucks would be taking. |

There's also the real possibility that Boeser isn't as good as many think and that's also part of the reason he's available.
His current contract final year salary is another issue. |

To me, that's a large overpayment for a player that is not a lock at all to be a star. |

I'd rather just keep Seider. He's not going anywhere. |

I believe Red Wings and Canucks make good trading partners, just not for this proposed trade.
I could see goaltender Thatcher Demko for Jared McIsaac and a 2nd being of benefit to both clubs, providing Canucks re-sign Markstrom first. |
