Worst cap hell in the NHL - RogerRoeper
You guys are still paying Kessel and Lehner.. lol Kessel for 2 more years.
Isles are more than fine .. despite Toronto fans constantly trying to say the opposite. tons of cap room, no UFA's that matter this summer.. there is Zero cap issues. They gave Sorokin that money this year so he would take 2 mil next year. They have almost half the cap coming off the books in 2 years. sign a couple of guys to bridge deals until then.. it's not an issue despite stupid articles saying the opposite. |

Lehner is paid until the end of the playoffs. They bought a draft pick with that $. You idiots traded a 1st and second for a 35 point third liner and gave him 6 years at 5 million per. That's why Islanders are in a horrible cap situation. Stop overpaying for aging supporting talent
Islanders are not "Fine". There's no cap and there's 6-8 contracts that will be very hard to move. They now are at their own mercy regarding Barzal.
And stop bragging about how contracts expire in 2 years. Nelson, Lee. Pageau's deals will look terrible by then. |

But yet we can win a PO Round you douche
- nyisles7
You've won 2 playoff rounds in 27 years. If not for Tavares it would be 1.
Nice way to try to change the subject that that's a terrible core you've got locked-up.
That Pageau deal was insane. |

Agreed. Tavares was incredible in that series against Florida. You guys are lucky to have him. In fact, I predict the Leafs will win the Cup..........not necessarily this season, but soon, I tell you, soon! I can feel it in my bones.... |

Well when the league gives them home ice for the POs it may help.

A. he has 26 goals this year in 67 games. (your 10 mill / 11 mill a year guys have 26 JT, and 16 Marner.
b. I would not expect a Leaf Moron to understand how important a 2 way center who can kill penalties and also score goals on the 3rd line is to a team. You would rather pay 1/2 the cap to 4 forwards and wonder why you get bounced every year in the first round. good luck ...
C. I am sure we will not hear from u anymore soon. get your dopey trolling in now while u can |

They wont believe you. Everything is fine, they say.
I do think the $8.1 mil cap space is way off. Perhaps they forgot to add in Toews, Barzal and Pulock current salaries. Lou will need to mortgage the future and go the Toronto 'huge signing bonus' route to make it work. Even with that, he'll need to move contracts over the next 2 years, with few picks / AHL options to fill the voids. |

This comment shows you don't get it. You think they are "Only" making 5, 6 and 7 million per so it's better than a Matthews or Marner contract. Matthews and Marner are 23 and under. The Isles 3 are 27, 29 and 30. They are all signed to a later age than Tavares will be when his deal ends. And certainly none of the 3 are game breakers. Matthews and Marner are young stars you build around.
Islanders were 21st in GF and are about to spend more on their forwards than the Leafs despite Leafs paying 40 million for 4 forwards. Let that sink in for a second...
Paying a Pageau at 5 million per for years 28 to 34 IS a much worse contract than Paying a Matthews 11.6 per at 22. |

Team A, with goals by Kuhnhackl and Barzal, blanks Team B, 2-0, as Varlamov gets the shutout.
That's it for Day 3 of #Isles
Training Camp.
Still can't score more than 2 goals even when we're both teams! |

I'm also impressed that Kuhnackl scored a goal. That likely constitutes his offensive output for the remainder of the season. - JohnScammo

Funny, but scary. I have this recurring nightmare of the Isles scoring just 2 goals while getting swept by Fla.

Hopefully, the nightmare ends when the Isles win the draft lottery. |
