The exhibition game with the Penguins is perfect to set the mood and light a fire for a fast start.

I expect no less than 17 line brawls in this game.

You're not making sense here. Obviously my comment and reply to you was not about coasting at any point but rather about fearing playing the Pens. It was pretty clear.

I did not say anything about *fearing* the Pens. I said that I would rather avoid them if I had a choice. I provided reasons in the general (better to play lower seeds than upper) and in the particular (Malkin, stars versus system, coming off a likely route against Habs and thus with playoff momentum).

Of course, I made the perennial mistake, kindhearted egalitarian fool that I am, to believe that elaborating with such detailed elementary reasoning would allow the pool of logic to slowly seep into your diminished cortex, a mistake that I have little interest in prolonging.

Later.

There is a difference between running scared of anyone and doing the best you can to maximize your chances. The latter does not imply the former, which seems to be the predominant misunderstanding here.

There is no misunderstanding. You respect every team but you don't fear playing any team. That's the point.

Sure you did. Right here

"Pittsburgh will come in fully healthy, and I suspect they will demolish Habs. I really don't want to face a confident, healthy, physically and psychologically attuned Pens team in the first round."

The rest that you posted is just bull poop.

I just saw that Vigneault is up against Cassidy and Torts. Personally, I think Torts is better. You might hate Torts as a person but he changes cultures of teams.

I think AV or Torts should win. With how many players The BJs lost between free agency and injuries this year, it’s very impressive how his team did under him.
