Really? After that one preseason game against McJesus where fans said Cole “shut McDavid down” there was a lot of excitement. It wasn’t true but for whatever reason this market had him as a Canuck young star.

Not disagreeing with the sentiment, but it was a junior playoff series where Cassels was effective against McDavid that got people excited.

thanks. I couldn’t remember the exact details. I just remember people talking about him as if it was just a matter of time before he was a regular. I remember a few in here who had him on their “watch list”.

All fans overhype their prospect pool. Seeing that now with our franchise. Just hope this time it’s different and there’s some legitimacy.

He and Mallet were going to be our Beagle and Roussel of the future.

Thinking on our F depth JV is likely packaged in a cap dump this offseason.

With Hog on the horizon & Mac looking good there’s 2 needing a good spot.

Pod a year later only means it makes more sense. I like Jake but he’s not helping his case off the ice. On the ice he’s a tease.

Why not swing for the fences? Save money, get the kids into the game. Can shelter Rathbone and Rafferty at times by putting Edler and Myers together for some shifts.

Hughes Tanev
Edler Rafferty
Rathbone Myers

Fattenberg/whoever

Now that Tryamkin is out for most or all of next season the above is a likely scenario to save cap off dumping Stetcher. Though if there is no AHL season then OJ may be there with Benn as extras. Fatty not getting resigned to make room.

Surprised that this would happen.

Where I am working, they had a guy not allowed on a plane, because h was running a bit of a fever, they managed to get him on a different plane, and got him into camp.

I can see one of them back . I don't see him back at 3-4 mil but I can see him back at 1.5 or less. It depends on how much he wants to play here.

NY Nuck post about swing for the fences is not my idea of swinging for fences at all. I understand he was being tongue in cheek and realize what he was saying.

Swinging for the fences for me is Pietrangelo .

I think Canucks will concentrate on Markstrom Toffoli first. My only concern is LA has a lot of money and Toffoli likes LA so does LA want to lock in big money on a UFA when they are rebuilding.

I think there is a very good chance TT Markstrom and Tanev all return.

Why? You aren't big on players that know how to win in pressure/big game situations?

Stecher will be back...Fanty probably not.

Mark and TT are the priority agreed. A home run is not something we need right now.

Build around Hughes and once Tanev/Edler have moved on we're set.

I consider JTM a home run . I think if we can get Toffoli under contract for 5 mil that is a home run.

I would take a serious look at the D this year. Bringing back Tanev and Stecher ( to me) is a safe move. I am not sure you need to go that direction.

I think the team has already started to build around Hughes and Petey and it looks like you can throw Brock in there. I don't know why you need to wait two or three years.

You have two elite very young players and more kids coming with high level skill , I think is you can build now.
