Could be the best goal scorer since Ovi?
That's one hell of a player to add. Dominant type of player. I'm all about building up the middle but when you can add a winger that has the upside to be dominant like Jagr, Ovi, Kane then i'm all for it.
It's never a bad thing to draft HHOF upside type players. Maybe i'm too high on the hype machine, I really don't care. The Canucks have NEVER drafted 1st overall. Adding this type of talent to the rebuild at this stage would be amazing. |

Did anyone read Imac's article about how many people went and talked to Rathbone? We all know Higgins and Johnson kept in contact but also a Canucks scout and goalie coach or trainer also met up in person and attended games. He also did meet with Brackett once.
Apparently a lot goes into getting these guys familiar with the organization from the time drafted to the times wearing a Canucks jersey.
Johnsons quote was we want them to feel like they are part of the organization even before they sign contract.
It was a good article. I watched the video again of the draft to see if it was a Brackett pick and it was just as much Weisbrod . They really were a well oiled machine at that draft and cleaned up. Even Jims comments in the first round where he said I am surprised no one has taken Kole Lind yet.
