Trading 2 of the 4 2RhD we have is not an issue. - IonSabres
It is when Will Borgen is the next man up.
And let's not dismiss it, it's a 1RW and 2 or 3RHD. Would need to acquire both or it's Tage on the top line and Borgen as 3rd pairing, one injury away from 2nd pair. No matter your view on Sam, he is playing top line RWer right now and we don't have anyone remotely close to that in the system. |

I posted the links the other day for points for guys up front the last 5 years, 3 years and 2 years
reinhart was top 60 for 5 years and 3 years, top 50 for the last 2 years
there is only 31 teams, so 93 first line players and reinhart was somewhere near the middle once you removed the d men from the list on all 3 links
the haters had no response
not 1 single response - homiedclown
Here's my response, AGAIN.
Except for Boss, no one says he sucks.
The info above tells me he is a valuable trade chip to secure a solid 2C which is much harder to acquire. Finding a good 2C should be their number 1 priority, largely to positively impact Skinner.
Apparently, Botts was in discussions to acquire Alex Tuch, and/or Josh Anderson. If they were to trade for one or both, they could add Mojo and Kahun to that list to field three solid RW's from those 4
That enables Cozens to Bake at 3C for 1 to 2 years. They then have multiple configuration options to optimize the top 9, as well as possibly trading 1 or 2 to fill other areas of need.
Lastly, C then RhD then RW are the hardest positions to find talent.
Having one - 1RW and two - 2hD's should be able to acquire a 2C and a RW, maybe a 2nd RhD.
Please put this in your Response Folder

They don't have a 1st Pairing RhD now, and if Risto and Montour are dealt they still won't. However Pilut and Miller can then be the 2RhD and 3RhD. Borgen is 7th or playing in Rochester, or a trade chip in a package.
They don't need to play Borgen if both Risto and Montour are dealt.
What they need to do is find their 1st Pairing partner for Dahlin.
Jan Rutta of Tampa is currently play 1RhD next to Hedman...he plays solid D and gets the puck to Hedman quickly to start the Transition...could be a good get...UFA on a Cap strapped team...pay him $3.5 for 3 years ...that's an increase of $2.2m and could be enough. |

Yet he can't be on his own line ..
I wouldn't pay him what happens if jack leaves we're (frank)ed with that contract - gerbe75pts
Seriously? We're (frank)ed anyway. We're (frank)ed WITH Jack, let alone without him. All these asinine arguments "Sam's been here and we've lost". Well, so has Jack, dummies. It's like the Russ Brandon arguments, donkey brained. |

sure then you can trade, and move assets for an often injured boeser or one arm anderson
so many people on this site undervalues how durable reinhart is
he has yet to miss a game to injury and is our only winger that gets in front of the net
after year 3, more often then not, Vanek would miss 12 % of a season due to injury - homiedclown
Pretend world has Sam getting in front of the net often.
He does rarely drift in front of the net.
Wouldnt he have more goals if he was really a net front presence?
Why did they put a defenseman in risto actually in front of the net on the pp. Because, no forward would/ could position themselves there, not just sam |

Yup, I was thinking of adding Taylor Leier and Dalton Smith in place of Bergy...I know it is a significant overpayment, but hell our pipeline is friggin stacked...need to thin the herd a bit. |

Yes, and we've lost with him just the same.
If the team had more than one line that could score a goal they'd be way better off, but no, let's all focus on Sam because he was a Richard to my niece, or because he doesn't take stupid penalties.
Edit: The team does not have enough talent, full stop. |

What qualifies as out of whack? Feels like even the biggest Sam fans here don't want to give him 8m on a long term deal, which says a lot. Can almost guarantee he's asking for more. - Lunaion
You think he's asking for more than $8M per on a long term (greater than 6 years) deal, in this climate? Seriously? |

Regardless, you seem to think its Jack's fault equally?
There hasnt been a sabre in 2 decades that does more NOT to lose.
Sam is just like every other loser over the past 9 years of 0 playoffs.
Do not mention my niece (frank)face.
It was my friends daughter (frank)o.
Sam doesnt try his best every shift. How does that not bother you? (frank)o

Half the team lacked effort and heart. If you are getting that 2C back in a trade for Rhino you do it, but this team needs all the talent it can get. |

No, only an idiot would think I was saying that. JFC
Having a 4C, albeit a good one, with hands of stone play borderline 2nd line minutes is a surefire way to not score any goals. They need 2 good centers to push Larsson where he belongs. Along with another winger or 2 that can score 15 goals(on this team) Girgensons is not that guy, he shot a career best this year, even better than when he was on the first line.
We got ourselves a tough guy over here, watch out!
Lighten up, Francis. It's funny, for the guy who insults everyone, he can't take when someone makes a mistake?
You need to relax, smoke a joint, jerk off, get laid, something, anything, you're rapidly becoming Fitz, even he hasn't been that bad the past couple weeks. |

100%, but why would a team trade a center for a winger? It makes no sense. If a team is stacked at center, then they slide a guy to the wing. All centers can play wing. The big trades for those centers are all for defensemen. The biggest one in recent memory was Jones for Johansen, and then only because Torts hated Johansen. Zibanejad, sort of, but Ottawa was selling off salary, you can't rely on that. |

Because Sam is way more valuable below the goal line on the PP than in front of the net. |

I don't mind Reinhart the player, but he is NOT a 1RW on a Cup caliber team.
Just saying. |

I've said for years he's probably a top-10 player in the NHL from below the goal line. It's a weird skill but he's excellent there |

Also Reinhart is very underrated at tipping pucks in the mid slot. His hand-eye coordination is terrific. Definitely the best at it in the blue and gold since Vanek |
