That's my thinking. Might not be the best idea, but the Sabres could let him go to Arbitration and see what comes of it. Teams aren't gonna be giving out huge contracts the next few years, and players are gonna have to deal with it.

Tuch had a solid year last year, but that may have been an anomaly, while Stephenson has done (frank) all in the NHL except one 41 game stint last year with Vegas.

For Tuch mainly, I didn't realize he had such a horrible year, he was obviously hurt, he missed over 20 games, but 17 points in 42 games is gross plus his other stats took a major hit.

His contract quickly turns from good to bad if he goes from producing 20 goals - 30 assists with upside to being an 18 goal - 20 assist producer.
