The Canucks aren't moving Boeser, where the hell does this keep coming from.
- SABRES 89

The point is anyone can be traded or rumoured to be traded at anytime. Some guys make up these rumours for a living. No harm in predicting a trade then if it actually happens you are on a new level.
Boeser, Demko and a 2021 3rd rounder for Reinhart, Hutton, Middlestat and the NHL rights to Pilut

They have Cody Glass, he will be there 2C. Karlsson won't get traded because Stastny only has 1yr left on his contract. And Peyton Krebs is coming soon.
- Buff36

cody glass 12 points in 39 games in nhl and has a ton of upside

casey picked 2 spots later 39 points in 114 nhl games , 25 points in 36 ahl games is an afterthought

If we trade 2 RH guys & put Borgen in the lineup,
then the only guy we have in Rochester who MIGHT be ok to bring up for injuries is Bryson
Even if Borgen is “ready”
It’s just dumb to thin our defensive depth

- jdfitz77

I guess that is one view someone could have.

So, then how would you classify having 4 2-RhD's costing a total of $13.7m (5.4+3.6+3.8+.9), while having gaping holes at other positions 2C, 2Rw, 3C, 2-or-3LhD on a team that desperately needs to score more goals.

Sabres can afford to trade 2 RhD's and I would go further and suggest that it is irresponsible not to.
In the example given, a FA signing of DeMelo was positioned to secure Dahlin's partner, leaving Miller and Joker to battle for the 2nd and 3rd pairings, both of which could slide up into 1st pairing as needed for short-term injury purposes, leaving Borgen to fill in on 3rd pairing. That saves $9m in Cap to secure DeMelo AND get assets back either to fill a current need or futures to build out the sorely lacking pipeline

Not sure why you don't get that.

why?

demko is no better then johansson

nucks are cap strapped and this trade does not help them

a trade that helps the nucks would be casey and samuelsson for boeser and I would not do it if I was Kim or Kevyn

If Borgen can't play NHL minutes at 24, he's another casey nelson and ship him out now

I would take Demko as a 1b to Ullmark, he's only 24 and has better upside than Johansson.

johansson is also 24 and has much better numbers in his time in the ahl

demkos nhl stats are on par with what we got from hutton the last two years

I would rather have whats in the box or behind the curtain

Ya, not sure why the love for Demko on here. I get it is a trade that wouldn't happen, but I guess I would seek something different in a trade package.

If Hutton's issue was his vision irregularity, AND it has been resolved back to normal, I'm ok seeing what he has left...and if decent then perhaps he is traded at the TDL. Couple decent UFA Goalies at the end of next season

I don't think so.
He is a finalist for Sabres President next season after an exhaustive search conducted on Monday morning a couple weeks back.

What do you mean, he is rated the highest rated prospect breakout goalie ready for the NHL. If Spector's is right, I don't see 4 or 5 teams calling on Johansson's availability. Maybe he will never hit his potential but I would take him over Hutton until we see what is up with UPL

demkos numbers in the nhl suck

ullmark puts up those numbers and people say he belongs in the ahl

I am curious to see if hutton or johansson gets exposed to waivers, my gut says hutton

I've seen what that kid can do in the NHL already, he needs more time, even then his seemingly laissez faire attitude needs a good kick in the teeth to see if there is any passion to win inside there.

My plan for him
- 1 year Qualifying Offer at minimum of $990.
- 2 sit-down with him about needinf from him strict focus, all-in on a) strength and conditioning and b) skating improvements
- 3) assignment to Rochester for at least 1/2 year...gotta prove it over a relatively considerable period.

Demko is 24yrs old, and is just starting his career.
From Elite Sports
Thatcher Demko plays a modified butterfly style, with quick side to side movements. With more playing time at the NHL level has the oppurtunity and skills to become a elite starting goaltender.
He hasn’t reached his level yet, but I would take him as a backup right know to see where he goes.

Here's a play, go get Chris Driedger from Florida if you want a young NHL ready breakout type guy.
Panthers would be nuts to trade him, but maybe Miller or Montour gets him.

Yup.
Nobody's taking him, Sabres stuck for 1 more year.
Use it to see what Ullmak can do as undisputed 1st.
They may find they have a suitable guy right under their nose...his stats are saying just that.
