The likelihood is they will bow out in the play in and not win the lottery. It should be a good pick. Of course, we don't have Taylor Hall so we have not luck. Could get interesting.

If we can walk away with the 7th and 10th picks, I'd be thrilled. The VAN pick i'd like to see traded back to VAN for a Boeser deal, if possible, by eating Eriksson's terrible contract. The cap will be a big player and we need to weaponize for a 23 y/o wing who can flat out shoot.

The VAN pick + Severson for Boeser + Eriksson is sounds like a good deal to me. Draft Holtz at 7 or Quinn at 10 for another sniper and BPA with our other pick and our youth movement will be in a great spot.

As far as cap space and picking up player or players form teams that might be in trouble due to not enough cap space remaining hope we don't end up exposing a decent player to the Rain city female dog Pidgins in the up coming expansion draft.

If Boeser is on the team, no reason not to start developing his chemistry with Jack. I also like Bastian on the team this year. I think Janne K and Merkley will also see a lot of ice time. No reason to force Dadanov on the team if we get Boeser, save the money. Jesper B has become our forgotten prospect bc he didn't come out of gates on fire last year, but this kid still has a very high ceiling

I don't think Vancouver isn't trading Boeser. They'll get under the cap, and keep their 23yr old star winger.

All intriguing matchups. HAVE to root hard for Habs and Chicago. AZ's pick dropping 2 spots is imperatively more important for us than the chances Pens or Oilers land 1st overall. We need the best WE can get, and let those teams worry about their own. Habs have a prayer, Chicago has a little more of a chance.. but still both very unlikely to win.

Eh, its all a moot point if the Yotes beat the Preds, which is the more likely outcome of that series. And thats the only series i have a rooting interest in and am hoping for a certain outcome, i couldnt care less about any other one. Doesnt matter to me if the pick is 9, 10, or 11. Give me 11 all day, if it means its not jumping to 16+

We were probably better off keeping the picks on Mueller and resigning John Moore. Its just insanity. AND we are going to throw Ty Smith into this mess and ruin his career!

Haha we had better be getting someone much better if we give up Severson and his low cap hit. I say offer Butcher. There must be a team that is cash strapped, looking for a potential 2LD. He does have 0.45ppg in over 200 NHL games. Gotta be worth something to someone. But we would desperately need to add two LD to our roster if this were to happen.

Nobody misses LJ. I'd sooner have White/Mermis in our lineup of that guy. Do not panic. We are in a great position right now. Smith is a top notch prospect who will be sheltered this season, and Vats could very well reunite with this club. Maybe ink Edmundson as well to strengthen that left side. Regardless, many teams are going to trade for a loss in the coming months. Between the Cap, and Expansion draft players will not be too hard to come by, and if some of our current and upcoming prospects continue to develop, we will have good affordable talent for a few years yet.

I would not be shocked if Vats is back in a Devils uniform next year. Let him go have some fun and then offer a 5 year deal at a good price. I also wouldn't be upset. But as someone said on another message board, we need a big bull to add to our D. We get pushed around like rag dolls!

Having 7 and 9 greatly boosts our odds at getting who we want, with just 1 good player being picked before us instead of 2 or 3, or even 4.

Nah i dont think its much of a dropoff from those guys to a Quinn or Lundell, or even an Askarov. Someone good will be available with the 2nd pick whether its 9, 10, or 11. I dont see it as a big deal at all. Its much more of a big deal for the pick to drop to 16+ than it is being at 9 or 11. This is what Queenie meant by saying its not worth getting worked up over it, its not worth worrying about the Canucks pick being this year or not just as much as its not worth it stressing about the AZ pick being 1 or 2 spots higher. Just enjoy the games and whatever happens, happens

I think it would cost more. Laf is supposed to be franchise-level. The 7 and 9 *should* be top 4 D/ top 6 F.
