Nobody wants to play for a team like the leafs. The media there is garbage and that is why their players always choke hard and have not won anything since before colored TV.

Because what would be the point of a hockey rumor without the leafs being involved LOL. Trade Demko to the leafs for Marner, you heard it here first (won't help oour cap issues) but could you imagine him on a line with Bo Bo

I recall Demko for Nylander back when he was holding out was a rumor, can’t see either team working towards a deal like that now.

I wonder too, if players are going to take shorter deals at lower rates to bridge the current economic situation. Virtanen as an example of a player not ready for a payday but that a team could give too much Salary and term to. Seeing him stay a Canuck at a fair salary is very doable.

While the focus is publicly about Toffoli, I can’t imagine him signing in Van and that frees up the cap enough to resign the players they need

Yeah, the only thing more bizarre then the rumors is their continued ability to add Players. It's like an alternate cap world then NJ.

NJ has the smallest payroll in the league and continues to pontificate over being financially conservative so nothing bad happens down the road. Just in case everyone develops into high end expensive players. How are we going to pay Jack Hughes a max contract in 3 years??? Don't sign any UFAs!

Demo would be cheap. Leafs are all-in on anything cheap while snug against the Cap.

I see Stamkos not just skated, but shot pucks. I have to confess I am surprised, core injury, his past and so on made me think of a much more conservative timeline.

I would think Stevie would not mind acquiring Demko. The Canuks could use him as the sweetener to get rid of Eriksson. Say Louie (retain$1M) and Thatcher for a Red Wing prospect (Cholo or Svetch) or a 3rd.

Viertanam sucks, he should be traded if possible after these playoffs. He should be showcased in the playoffs then dumped to someone who believes in him.

Not sure if teams can retain salary on more than 2 players. I believe Nux have done that already. Demko to Detroit would be good.

Just seen it too often, how can you get so many details wrong on a regular basis? Does he have another job he does for 8 hours a day and this is a side gig? If the NHL is a full time thing, how can he not know who Canucks fans see as the heart and soul guy in a team? Does he even watch hockey? He's wrong all the time about so many teams and especially the Canucks.
