Sergavhev is gonna get paid, too. - GreatGigInTheSky
I think JB will have no choice but to bridge him and I think he'll take it. He's happy AF in Tampa. He's a beach and water nut now. The tax advantage and contender status helps as well. He's not going anywhere. A couple of folks will have to go to make room (looking at you Killorn, Johnson, and/or Gourde).

If anyone can put Detroit back on track, it's him. The Wings are in good hands.

Would love to see Johnson in a Winged Wheel jersey! He could be a #2 C right away! He is usually a Wing killer when they face him, and that would be one less thorn to deal with!

Something in Tampa has to give, salary-wise. The flat cap leaves little wiggle room with Sergachev needing a new contract. Given that Yzerman and Briesbois have a good relationship and most of the Tampa players respect Yzerman, I could see some movement between the two teams. Definitely something to watch in the offseason.

Sergachev isn't the only one, Cirelli and Cernak need new deals to. Sergachev could eat all there cap room by himself, as could Cirelli. There in a pickle because Johnson and Gourde have NTC and Killorn has a 16 team list. Be interesting to see what happens, they usually find away, but it finally might have caught up with them. |

Johnson has been under utilized as of late, I could see him waiving his NTC to be a #2 center elsewhere. The guy still brings it!

Killorn is coming off career high production, so his stock is up. His contract is reasonable also, so moving him won't be an issue. We'll probably get a decent pick or prospect in return.
I would love to see Gourde go, but his contract sucks, so.....probably have to sweeten the deal to move him (if he agrees to a move). Johnson has value, but not as much as Killorn and more than Gourde. I could see Johnson and Palat waiving their NTC if they are moved together (off-ice close friends, played whole careers together, etc). I'd hate to see Palat go, but keeping Cirelli and Sergachev would be worth it.
Cernak I could let go not feel bad about it. He's a friggin head-hunter and if he can't keep his murderous instincts in check, then I'd rather see him go.

Well you are probably right, but we aren't in the same hockey world as usual, there are 16 teams that will have problems signing there own UFA'S and RFA'S, it will be a interesting offseason for a lot of teams. There are other teams that will be trying to move players out to, only so many teams that can afford to take contracts on. |

4/5.25m wasn’t a cap dump.
Asset management yes.
Do the Leafs need to add a high pick for their dump? - Nighthawk
They needed to make space and they did. Got a 1st for their trouble. |

Last summer Ek reported that Point would be traded by Yzerman...to Yzerman. Apparently he was the GM of both teams. I wonder if that source is still a source? - Kooleus

Stevie can't trade for Point. Because it's a "salary dump " Tampa has to include a first, and they don't have a 1st this year. (your rules)

Hey boys and girls, An(g)us has butthurt from another thread where I owned him, and now I am living in his head rent-free. He is now one of my biggest fans. Give him a big round of applause and a popsicle. - GalacticStone

Remember the Sabres source who had them preparing a massive RFA offer sheet, despite not having much cap room last summer? Remember the killer Marner offer sheet for $13M x 1 year? I wonder if this is the same source linking the Sabres to Killorn? |
|
|
|
Really? The Sabres couldn't negotiate a decent trade if their life depended on it. |

This dippoop is the one who started the endless reply chain. Talk about Dunning-Kruger. Go ahead and go look it up, I'll wait...
Call me out - I respect science and work in a technical science field. Ooooohhh.
You burned me bro. Lemme go put lotion on that.
Mr. Cool Scientist Stone Galactic Boy. Ouch. I'm hurt.
Thanks for the compliments. Keep it up. It's fun for me and fun for you and people feel bad for you witnessing this.

What do you mean? The Sab’s helped negotiate sweet deals for the Sharks and an extra fav for the Blues after giving up the best prospect pipeline in the NHL & draft picks to get Kane & O’Rielly
Watch O’Rielly to get more hardware.
