I did. Even I thought the comparison to Hasek was a little absurd though lol

But he certainly seems like he is the real deal. Playing behind the Trotz system and having Korn/Greco in his corner training him could lead to some big things.

Yeah Hasek being a totally unorthodox goalie and Sorokin being the exact opposite struck me as odd as well. I think getting him signed was the big hurdle and hope he turns out to be a game changer. We could use some good luck with our Russian draft picks.

The "total opposite" of unorthodox is orthodox, and 'orthodox' doesn't describe Sorokins style AT ALL.

Currently, Sorokin depends on his athleticism to recover from the mistakes his unorthodox playing style creates. He is absolutely a bit like Hasek in that regard.

Sorokin will need to conquer a steep learning curve in order to enjoy a long NHL career.
