On another article Pearson Gaudette TT were a line that were real good. AG getting 2 proven top wingers helps. Interesting if it sticks but I doubt it.

Miller Petey ???
??? Bo Boeser
Pearson Gaudette TT

If it went that way who slots in in the top 6? Mac is in there some where on his play alone.

Only way you could do that is to slide two rookies into the lineup. Podk with Petey and Miller and Hoglander with Bo. No way you'd pay 8-9 mil in wingers on your third line. Now the fourth line....

JV's days have been numbered since he was sent down. Either the bust label or later trade him now that he has value. Like Miller he could be a Cap casualty. I think if they keep him he'll pay off like Miller on skill set not leadership though.
- NuckUp

JV & OJ somewhat in the same boat as in taking longer than fans would like. That delay had other prospects drafted or rise up making it appear like JV & OJ are a disappointment. That’s what happens if teams draft or trade well. A good problem vs giving up on them. At worst they become assets for trades. On OJ injuries set him back & I’m not concerned if it takes more time. At worst it’s contract cost control & more depth. Timelines for young players all differ.

I agree other than 3rd lines can shine & the top 6 pairings are still good & getting Ops best shutdown lines against them. TOI & deployment would have to be managed properly. I don’t believe it will happen but it’s a nice idea if in game occasionally.

Hoglander is unavailable. Contract cost doesn’t matter in the PO’s. If TG goes with 3 lines deep it won’t be a 1st. Pens had Bonino & Kessel together. Wild cannot match up against 3 lines if he goes that way. It’s a strategy that has possibilities.

Fair point. I agree that a loss of a season could doom the league.

It all hinges on when crowds will be allowed to come back. If it's not by next season, the CFL (and some other leagues) will probably go under.

Im kinda thinking it is doomed. Eskomos name change seems like a cry for help then them doing the right thing.

What exactly is offensive with Eskimos?
Cleveland Indians isn’t.
Redskins is.
I don’t think Blackhawks is.

Blackhawks is the least offensive name of all the listed.

The National Hockey League (NHL)'s Chicago Blackhawks was named in honor of the U.S. 86th Infantry Division, which was nicknamed the "Blackhawk Division" after Black Hawk, a Native American chief; the team's founder, Frederic McLaughlin, having served in that division.

If there's an issue with the logo that's entirely different.

Someone suggested this as a topic for consideration two years ago and you were outraged. Or drunk. Or both. Probably both.

Are you judging OJ on 2yrs of bad luck with injuries & where would JP fit in here?

Yes, he has. Just not at the expected rate of the #5 pick in a good draft year.

I'll give him credit for this, he isn't sulking in Finland. He's slugging it out in the minors with the team that drafted him. Working on getting better for his team. Can't say as much for for Puljujarvi.

I get it its part of the perceived forward glut and cap crunch. Though as we said Pearson is UFA the following season so JV could fill there as he's more ready then Podz and Hogs.

I guess if there is a JV trade it has to be a solid return that doesn't turn into a Guddy type result or a Miller scenario in reverse.

It has very little to do with money. I see Jake as an asset today to get a young RHD . If Toffoli decides to sign with LA then you bring Jake back.

When Brock came Back Jake got moved to the Beagle line. He doesn't have a line at the last scrimmage. Green feels he has better forwards and I agree. Nothing to do with money.

I think Dipietro will need more time but thats not a difficult issue. Backups are not hard to find in the NHL.

Jake either forces his way into a key line up spot & keep it or expect a new address. Wings & NJ can use him. Other prospects want his job. Does he want it more?

This is it. Canucks are not making decisions out of frustration or anything else. That talent pool is catching up and passing Jake.

I agree with all the forwards that are in the top 6 . I think every one of them are better players.

They wanted Jake to be a power forward , hit, fight, score goals and hopefully be a force. We keep saying maybe next year and as we say that other players are stepping in and doing what we wanted Jake to do.

Jake had a good year last year but not good enought to win a position off of even players like Motte.

To me I think of the adage you snooze you lose. I think Jake is snoozing.
