No I would not expect there best offer at 1st, but I would expect it to be a little more serious. And with everything going on and only so many teams with the cap room to sign FA, it's going to be tougher for FA to get what they want.

Yes, he is getting better, with better players around him, he was a 50 point player, before that. Like I said he's a good hockey player, he's not a superstar.

Everything I have read project shorter, lower contracts over next 2 - 3 years, with players signing shorter deals to get better longer term deals once the Cap starts going back up.
However, they also say the elite may not be as badly impacted.
Is RNH elite? I think he's more like Reinhart...very good, not elite.
He is putting together his best season though at 0.95sh ppg.
