Dude we can just replace Larry with Lazar.
Defence does not matter. - Pegullaville
Last summer people couldn't get him out of here fast enough and if you look at his past seasons he is no D wiz that can be overpaid and is irreplaceable by others who will be available due to the flat cap. |

The Sabres compared favourably to the Blue Jacekts and Isles.
We also defended quite well, not as well as the aforementioned but very close.
I still think goaltending is the glaring issue on the team even before a 2C. We should have made the playoffs even with our scoring issues with how well we defended. - Pegullaville
after a certain point, somewhere around the global series, the sabres forgot how to play as a five-man unit, which includes forwards bringing passion to their own zone...c-bus played a complete, 200-foot, team game |

They don't have the fake noise on SN, thank God. - Wetbandit1
i thought i heard it on nbcsn, which was using the sn feed....in fact one of the announcers said something like, "the artificial crowd didn't do justice to the save that was just made." |

Did you ever get F1 TV? It's pretty awesome. - Wetbandit1
nope. I was thinking about it though. back to your last post, Horner did say verstappens tires had about 50 little cuts in them from debris. I dunno, go for the win always. (frank) 2nd place. (frank) points. they dont need the bonus money. |

Well it sure seemed Skinner forgot how to play once Sobotka got hurt. |

What I don’t understand is if your team is built to play defensive and do it well that’s the way you play to win.
A team like the leafs is built to win high scoring games but they try and beat a solid defensive team at their own game.
My take is the Sabres can learn from Torts. He has for years had every player buy into his approach to winning and sticks by it through thick and thin. Ralph is a torts guy. |

How people in ownership positions communicate and act differently to the economic challenges caused by the Pandemic is rather remarkable. Here's an outtake from an interview with Tampa Lighning owner Jeff Vinik in The Athletic.
“My life is not affected. I’m enjoying the sunshine on Cape Cod but many people are affected dearly by this. Yes, we’re losing a lot of money. But I’m not feeling sorry for myself or other sports owners whatsoever.”
With no revenue coming in, we had discussions about what to do with staff, whether we should furlough some employees or cut back salaries for some employees and frankly we had plans to do that. And at the 11th hour, I just couldn’t do it. Because I didn’t want to hurt our valued, hardworking, loyal employees at times they’re under such stress because of the coronavirus. I just couldn’t do it.
It will have no effect on hockey operations. As you know, I view the Lightning from a long-term perspective, both short and long term. We want to win five, 10 years from now. So in terms of our scouting, our coaching and strategic planning on the hockey side, none of that is affected. Business is just done more virtually than in person.
Kerry and Tim should take notes. |

What he means to say is his PR firm saw the blowback Jacobs and the Pegulas were getting, so they busted his door down to prevent him from doing something stupid. At the eleventh hour.
