Do you think Ek took this blog off the front page so we could all start posting comments on Garth's blog ? Because he's trying to make Garth the only Sabres blogger ? |

How about that beauty game-winning goal by Carrier tonight ? Back to the goalie and between the legs. Nice one ! - kritter65
Maybe should have let Vegas have ullmark, and kept him.
Deal worked out by gmtm and signed by jbotts. |

Not-so-bold statement : "The Office" is THE best TV show (comedies) in the history of American television. We've watched it from day one on NBC and now on reruns on Comedy Central - seems like it's on there constantly, which is fine by me. I will NEVER get sick of it and still laugh my ass off when watching it.
That being said, we just watched the British version (we watched it MANY years ago and gave it a second viewing - I had forgotten pretty much everything that happened and questioned whether we actually watched it a first time)... and my God, was that depressing as all hell. Everything is dull and gray. It just looks ugly. Everyone on the show is horrible and mean except for the "Pam" character (Dawn). I only laughed a couple of times during this British version - and I normally love Ricky Gervais - but he's just an awful human being during this thing and just not funny. Being an a-hole 99.9 % of the time doesn't necessarily make it funny. People say the humor was subtle ... no it wasn't. This show was just ... depressing.
If you're a huge fan of the American version of The Office and haven't seen the British version, sure, give the British version a chance (there's only 2 seasons). See if you can get through it. If you're strong and can force your way through it, you'll be somewhat rewarded for watching the "3rd" season - which is a 2 episode Christmas special. |

Works for me. I want Dahlin and joker playing top pair minutes. Keep one of Miller or montour for the second pair to go with McCabe. Borgen and whatever for the bottom pair.
Trade Risto and either Montour/Miller. Get a friggin center - jcragcrumple
And that gives us no depth if there’s an injury,
especially if there's one in the top4 |

Never watched the Office when it was on. Didn't look like it was "for me". Was I ever wrong.
The wife and I are binge watching it now on Netflix and can't get enough. (frank)ing hilarious. |

I think it’s extremely unlikely that in demand defensemen free agents will choose to come to Buffalo
They’re going to have better options
It’s a nice idea, but i don’t see it happening |

I hear that a lot. For years, I tried getting a co-worker to watch it and he used to say the same things you said - "tried it, it wasn't for me". Then recently, he comes up to me and says "I can't believe I never gave it a chance - you were right...it's amazing".
I think a lot of people are discovering it because of the pandemic. They're trying new shows as there's a lot more TV watching during this thing. If Netflix were smart, they'd keep The Office going instead of removing it in 2021 - like they're planning to do.
There's SO many great/favorite scenes - and i'm thinking of a couple right now, but don't want to spoil anything for you. What are some of your favorite scenes ? |

fitz said guys on the third line don't play 18 minutes a night
cat does on average and he plays on the third line
again you really need to follow the conversation thread, before you chime in - homiedclown
Actually, i said it’s rare... which it is
If you’re going to quote me, get it right
Also, i said that Ralph couldn’t reasonably do that bc he had to play our “4th line” so much
Lastly,
U said u want Ralph to play Vesey with a Center who could “dish him the puck”
And u still have not answered my reply to that about Ralph not having a guy like that to play there
And as far as DeBrincat goes...
He’s spent PLENTY of time in the top6 for the Hawks
And just bc he is currently playing in the 3rd line,
it doesn’t mean he’s a “3rd liner”
Is Kane or Toews a “2nd liner” then?
Come on now |

That my problem with trading Montour AND Risto though
Ppl act like we’ll be able to sign a good UFA defenseman to take their place,
and that just seems very doubtful to me |

The trade idea below is total horsepoop.
Buffalo sends Eichel, defenseman Colin Miller, prospect Dylan Cozens and the No. 8 overall pick to St. Louis for right wing Vladimir Tarasenko, defenseman Justin Faulk, center Robert Thomas and the Blues’ first-round pick. |

That’s like the blues version of a Garth offer. It’s probably one of the worse offers I’ve actually read recently. I may actually be dumber now from reading it. |

In all three instances, it feels like the team trading the superstar got shafted. Which, of course. |

I’m not moving jack. Dahlin. Cozens. joker. UPL.
I don’t really want to move, but would in the right deal, Samson or Samuelson and I’d like to give Borgen a shot
Contractually you aren’t moving skinner (who I like) or concussed Larry
After that, go to town....
Find a stop gap 2c. Or a real 2c. A 2rw. And probably a 2Ld. |

The bolded feels like the right list.
I'd trade UPL for a goaltender who is NHL ready like one of the 2 young Rangers goaltenders.
I also think the duo of Jake McCabe and Jon Merrill could handle the 2nd and 3rd pair LHD roles for next season. |

Maybe so.
However, retaining 4 RhD that can all pop play 2nd pairing on the right side, but who shouldn't play 1st pairing doesn't make sense either. That is horrific Asset and Cap Management.
Joker is a keeper, Miller is probably best suited for 3rd pairing and as an emergency play-up role...he held his own for short periods with Dahlin once he adjusted to the system.
Risto and a re-signed Montour count about $9.6m towards the Cap that should be re-allocated to the F group to get solid secondary scoring.
This off-season could be very unique with many teams needing to shed talent and Cap space....could a decent defensive D become available...DeMeleo, Rutta, Gudas, Hamonic, Brodie are all UFA's...I suspect additional RhD will become available as well |

It was based on comparables from trades 20+ years ago, not optimizing the value for Buffalo
Totally different scenario.
Vogle stated 4 times...Sabres are not trading Eichel. |
