Why? He doesn’t score points therefore he’s awful. What’s intriguing?
At least stay consistent.
Or don’t, I don’t care - sbroads24
Under Housley he had 29 points. That's like two Larrys worth of production. He has offensive potential, it just wasn't a fit with Krueger
I wish him well |

1 point in 7 in Pittsburgh and multiple scratches.

Regardless of what Evan Rodrigues is, he isn't our problem anymore. Our problem is finding a second and third line center so the rest of the Larrys don't play 15 minutes a game again |

It makes things so much easier when you aren't latched on to any players on this team except Jack , Dahlin and Cozens.
Besides those players, there isn't a player to die on a hill for and it makes things so much easier. Joker had a good year, so did OV and keepers unless they bring something better, Tage I'd like to see more of but besides that who cares. |

I still fail to see how letting Larsson walking is beneficial to the Sabres at all.
If Johan wants out then so be it but it is in the best interests of the team to keep him around

Sure, agreed. If it came down to trading assets or paying 4+ mil for some random 3C that might eclipse 30 points, it’s really hard to argue that’s better value than retaining an elite defensive forward. But I’m with you that he’s 100% gone. And I’m 100% on board with never seeing 28 again. |

I’m just confused as to how one cannot acknowledge his value to us defensively.
We have 0 other good defensive forwards if 28/22 go. Reinhart is good on D but he’s going to always get heavy O zone work and matchups |

We can keep dancing around making the same arguments over and over but the crux of my argument is these two points:
Playing the Larrys 15 minutes a night stifles our opportunity to score goals, and we suck at scoring goals. The Larrys will always play 15 minutes a game because coaches are risk averse and the Larrys are safe.
And:
These bums have been on the team for like 10 (frank)ing years. It's enough already.
People are acting like it's July 1, 2007 all over again, but this time instead of losing our co-captains, we're losing a 17-point center and his twin
Let them goooo |

I’m sure Levi Wallace can fill right in for Tre White.
Might as well let him walk next year 🧐

Stop grouping them. We’re talking about one guy, Larsson.
I also for the life of me can’t seem to figure out why his ability to prevent goals, among the highest level of the league the past two seasons, is somehow not part of the equation at all |

No, because even if you only one retain Larry, i guarantee he's going to be playing with Okposo and those two will turn whoever they're playing with into a Larry. And those three Larrys will play 15 minutes a night of mind-numbingly boring hockey because coaches love it.
So then either we win a game because the powerplay goes 2/4 or lose when it goes 0/3
I've seen this movie for 7 years. I know the ending. |

Last two years? He was a -8 in 2018-2019, -30 the year before that and -41 for his career and I know you are going to say that +/- doesn't matter but it has with Risto for years with you so what is it does it matter or does it not? Maybe the conservative coaching and solid linemates helped Larsson out? |

I'd have to check the archives on that but there was a lot of uproar about his +/- but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

This is an entire separate issue that has to do with not getting good forwards + coaches being coaches.
I still don’t see a better logical 3c unless you’re thrusting Cozens into a defensive center role or you’re trading for a defensive minded 2C. Or you’re starting Mittelstadt at 3C. |

Larry G last year 12 goals 11 at even strength
6 even strength goals less than the A$$ Lickie with 17
4 or 5 million less per season.
Seems like value

No attachments other than jack. Dahlin and cozens.
I'd move cozens even. Prospects are suspects |

You have to disincentivize a coach from playing Larry hockey by taking away his larrys. Thats the only solution. If given the choice, a coach will always choose the safest path; i.e. Larry hockey.
He's sure as poop not going to play Cozens or Mittelstadt more than the larrys |

I wouldn’t want him to play Cozens more off the bat unless he’s on Eichel’s line.
Again, who’s a logical 3C candidate that we aren’t wasting assets, for a short term stop gap to Cozens?
I assume we’re all on board a 2C needs to be acquired |

he freaking cut dahlin's ice time down 10 percent from last year
if anyone should have been playing 28 minutes a night once eliminated, it should have been dahlin |

So we’re gonna throw in a slim chance hope of something happening into our 3C spot? - sbroads24
My Plan would be to
- Fix line 2 first and foremost. I posted about it around 9:00am this morning.
- Cozens there at 3C, if absolutely overwhelmed initially, then put Mojo there if he is still on the club as Plan B+. If not, Asplund as Plan C until Cozens can move back hopefully around TDL.
Didn't think about Plans , E nor F |
