vanek never really got into fights before he got paid, and a lot of millionaire hockey players were breaking their hands in fights at the time

Vanek was an elite wing talent that was utterly wasted on a team that searched from '07-'13 to find anyone who could reasonably be called a 1C. The Sabres wasted him. That's not his fault.

I never sh*t on him for being soft just some nights where is Vanek? I think it is tough to win when your best player is a sniper winger. The Sabres should have realized that.

You drafted Mittelstadt 8th overall. 3 full seasons later, he still hasn’t made it. I’ll stick with my prediction. Sabre’s goaltending is counting on an eye doctor. Askarov is best goalie prospect in awhile.

Prospect would be the key word. It’s very tough to argue the future but I’ll say he will not be drafted by the Sabres unless he’s still hanging around in the 3rd round.
