I agree with every thing apart from your last sentence. He didn’t have a PP goal in his last 80+ games as a Sabre. Nor is he really a set up man.

Skinner did nothing on PP1 this year before he was taken off.

I think vesey is fine

but our coach doesn't use him properly

he should be a third line winger, second team pp, second team pk

a player like him need 18 minutes a night, and a center that can feed the puck

The only Sabres forward who did were Jack, Sam & Olofsson
We also had NO 2nd or 3rd line center who can “feed the puck”

So putting that on Kruger doesn’t make sense

However I don’t believe having all your eggs in one basket is beneficial to anyone.

The Sabres paid Skinner $9M to drive his own line. Olofsson should be more of a factor at Even strength in year two making that line one of the best in the NHL.

Get a formidable 2C and give them heavy o-Zone starts and Skinner will get his 25 goals and all will be well.

Most Power play goals are a symptom of offensive creativity. Sure the coaching staff may implement a skeleton or perhaps a few schemed plays but at the end of the day it’s the creativity of the players on the ice.

Skinner played the high slot, and yes I understand they did force feed the Olofsson one timer I’m not disagreeing with that, however to say that someone in the high slot shouldn’t at least score a few PP goals is a joke.

I'm with you on most of this. It's 5 on 4, stop blaming the coach.

Some of our guys aren't very good it, even if they are our best options.
