Probably about as long as it takes you to rub one out watching kiddie porn... or less time then it would take you to proof read your sentence.

So, who are the Kraken taking from everyone’s team?

As a Flyers fan, I know Giroux and Hayes have NMCs, so they’re staying. Couturier and Konecny arent going anywhere. My guess is Voracek also gets protected. Lindblom just got a 3 year deal, so likely cross him off the list, too.

That means there is 1 spot (if they go by the 7F, 3D, 1G) for forwards left between Patrick, JvR, and I guess Laughton.

I think Patrick is one of the odd men out here. The other? Well, you’d think Laughton, but the team really likes him. JvR? might be appealing to The Kraken, and hell maybe Philly wants to free up some cash. I’m still guessing 60/40 in saving JvR over Laughton, but that could change over the playoffs.

As for defense, Provorov and Sanheim are locks. Myers will likely be the 3rd.

So that would leave me to conclude the Kraken will pick from Laughton, Patrick, Ghost, Niskanen, Pitlick, and Hagg from Philly. Maybe JvR. Maybe.

Long story short - I’m gonna guess Ghost gets got with an outside shot at JvR if they dangle him.

New Jersey Devil's and the Cleveland Monsters. I'm fascinated by Cryptids and love a lot of podcasts that deal with the subject. I love the name and the color scheme! They definitely got this right

The Giant Pacific Octopus is the largest octopus species in the world.. so it is specific to the area.

Though Sockeyes would have been suitable too.

Let’s just hope they don’t introduce something as utterly pathetic as Gritty for their mascot

It'll be Jake Bean

really think Seattle should've stuck with green and blue, like some of their other teams. I googled Seattle hockey and found some examples of this from other teams in the state... really a sharp look, and it's always cool when cities keep the same colors for their teams, like Pittsburgh and NYR/NY Giants, Mets/Islanders. At first I liked the new original colors and design, but when I saw darker blue/green examples, it just pales in comparison. Seattle Seahawks colors on a hockey jersey would be sick.

they also could've done more with the logo. a very simple S with the tentacle and red eye.. meh. It's a freaking Kraken. I'm sure 3rd jerseys could look great, as long as the logo isn't an anchor.
I give this overall design a 6/10.

5 more days till exhibition games, 9 more days till play-in rounds!

my take:

Forwards: Voracek, Konecny, Farabee, Couturier, Patrick, Lindblom (unless he has health issues or significantly under performs in the next season), Laughton.

D: agree with your list. Morin is therefore exposed btw.

JVR - no one is taking him with that contract and therefore I don't see him being explicitly protected. If Lindblom is ok, he doesn't play on the top 6.

Ghost - seems healthy now, will likely be traded beforehand unless he cracks the top 4 sometime next season. I think chances of him staying are small either way.

Patrick - he will be protected. You are not going to let a guy with that much potential walk for nothing because he has health issues that very well might resolve. If it doesn't, the Kraken are not taking him anyway.

I think the CHAZ or CHOP is more appropriate, however, even the Seattle Vandals or Looters would work as well.

I think Farabee/Frost won’t count at that point? Don’t believe either will require protecting.

And yeah, Morin will be exposed, but I think his injury history saves him from being selected.

As for JvR’s contract, you’re right, most teams wouldn’t want his contract. There are two exceptions I could think of. 1) possibly someone trying to get to the cap floor. 2) a new franchise who won’t be handing out a whole bunch of big deals to players anyways. They can afford it. JvR happens to both still be a good age, has veteran experience, and has a tiny amount of name recognition to a city trying to grab new fans.

But as I said, I think it’s unlikely he goes anywhere. Just gave it an outside chance.

Exposing Bean seem dangerous to you? It does to me. Seattle will have a poop-eating grin on their face if he’s sitting there.
