He did make room for them and I think he will again.
Lets not make any mistakes about it Jake is one of the most unimpressive players on the roster so far at camp. He has been invisible except for about 2 or 3 minutes a game. He has a couple of goals.
This is not a knock on Jake or a bad thing on the Canukcs. This is the whole team playing very well and pushing other players. Canucks have not looked this good in years.
Loui has been very noticeable so if he makes the roster it is because he has played well not because Green trusts him IMO. - VANTEL
I heard someone on Sportsnet 650 say something like that but in reference to the goals, he can finish so he was invisible for 58 mins then scores. So frustrating.

I do believe there are no bad choices. They even had JTM and Bo doing PK in the third period last night and to me that means they are looking to see if they can cover all bases. If they can cover the PK it will help them make choices.
I would love to see Jake get in there but he has been lazy and suspect with his D work. Honestly he doesn't deserve a spot but he might get in anyways. - VANTEL
I believe he deserves a spot solely based on how important he was to the team in the regular season. That said, when this thing is over, kick his can down the road for a couple 2nd round picks. |

That franchise is a joke. People get fired all the time in that business. No big deal. Why all the secrecy and lack of communication. Once again, leaving the door open for speculation and rumour. |

Truthfully if he was invisible for 58 minutes against the Wild then scored that would be great too.
If only he applied his mind to good and not evil |

I think his days are numbered. I can see him sitting out until someone his hurt or a loss than getting in the line up. I wouldnt be surprised to see him traded at the draft though.

I think Green is going to be hard pressed to start a guy who’s shat the bed in their scrimmages and practices in a best of 5 series.
Teams don’t have the same room for error, so why would Green trust Jake to just turn it on? I think he’s going to be in the press box to start.
Rous - Gaud - Ferland
Motte - Beagle - MacEwen/LE |

Last night at the scrimmage Markstrom let out another one of his screams you could hear over the broadcast after 3 PP goals went in in two minutes. That is the second time he has screamed in frustration in the practices.
I love how he hates to lose . Same as Petey and JTM . #Teamleaders |

Looks like we have our press box guys.
Hopefully it’s nothing with Zac. Would like to see him slot in for Sutter. |

I think it has to do with battling for position not injury related. I think we see out 12 forwards and 2 extras |

If they don't announce Zak as "unfit to play", we can assume they are trying to make a decision on the bubble players. He's a lock obviously. |

Agree...he’s probably done enough they want to look at others. Of the 31 players allowed to go all three of Eriksson, Virt & MAC will go, just need to figure out who’s playing. |

VHG, your team just landed Adams from the Jets. Steep price but he's one of the top safeties in the game. |

Good article from the Athletic on how Green has deployed his players. The premise of the article was who does Green trust but also is some interesting insight into how Green might deploy his lines.
Last year the top 2 defenceman league wide who were on the ice against elite talent were Edler followed by Tanev at around 50% of their shifts. This year Hughes and Myers have helped those two take a reduced load. 36% of their shifts while Hughes and Myers around 32%.
Only 4 NHLers spent less time against elite talent than Gaudette at around 14% of his shifts last year and 16% of his shifts this year. He's been used primarily as a 4th line to score rather than grind or shutdown which certainly plays to his strengths.
Another example? How about the fact that Jay Beagle had the lowest ratio of offensive zone starts of any forward in the league this year? Or that Bo Horvat was among the 98th percentile of forwards this season in terms of what percentage of his ice-time was against elites?
It’s an interesting preface to note that Green’s arguably more calculated and extreme with his matchups than any coach around the league.
I'm not sure that this necessarily means that his matchups have been effective but some of that would be dependent upon the players. Despite Beagle and Sutter previously getting consistently played in the defensive zone they also get outscored at a margin higher than most other players in those roles.
Love Carol, but I highly recommend signing up for the Athletic for great content. I think it costs me 8$ a month? I believe you can purchase it in a way that supports Carol as well iirc. |

I think it’s a real tough choice between Ferland and MacEwen to play on that third line. In the Winnipeg game they’re allowed to carry an extra forward on the bench — can see them rotating those two as a final tryout for that line. - NewYorkNuck

I think you are underestimating what a healthy Ferland does to this team. It really changes everything.
For once in a long time Canucks have a good problem. - VANTEL
No just guarded but yes I think he adds a lot if he’s fully ready. |
