This is the problem with political discourse today. Neither side cares anymore and seem to be proud to come off as raging bigots. It's a competition now to see which side can be louder about their intolerance.

Hextall literally built the current Flyers you clueless moron.

Chayka inherited a bad team, but with a lot of cap space.

He drafted poorly, despite being caught and fined for cheating.

He traded poorly overall. A couple of wins, but some really awful moves. Domi for Galchenyuk? DeAngelo and a 1st for Stepan and a back-up goalie. Brutal. Kessel - washed up as many predicted.

But his biggest mistake was wasting his cap space. He could have exploited teams badly, but really didn't. Instead he handed out awful contracts betting on his own young players. Nice in theory. But those who understand the game knew that guys like Keller, Schmaltz, Dvorak would never grow into those deals. Tanner was very excited, but again, those that understand the sport knew better. Did Yzerman lock up Athanasiou to a 7-year deal? Nope, he cut bait and got a couple of 2nd rounders for him.

Some of us have been saying Chayka deserved to be fired for a long time. Not Tanner. He worshipped him. Seems he was wrong again.
