in theory if ALL players truly respect the bubble, it'll work, but they are human after all, and we all know how stupid humans can be lol... and it doesn't have to be someone inside the bubble that is at fault, it could be someone outside who "breached in". anyways I guess the league already thought of everything, or tried to at least. I'm surprised things have gotten this far and that they'll actually play hockey. GO HABS GO - Pat1993
It is not the players I'd be worried about.
The people working the services (cooks, cleaners, porters, laundry services, delivery people, etc..) around the players is who I would think could cause the problems. |

exactly. on paper their plan surely is an "airtight" bubble, but you can't control every single interaction with the players. then again as Karine mentioned, if the MLS can have games right now in Florida, I guess the NHL can manage to do it in these technically safer canadian cities

They should go all WWE and have the AHL and ECHL players in the stands, wearing the jerseys of their NHL affiliate teams. Not too mention the hotel staff and rink staff that are in the bubble. They should get to watch live for free. |

not a bad idea for the staff, and that way they could easily replicate a home game for the panthers

It seems they have it covered.
Testing: Every person inside the NHL’s “bubble” will be tested for COVID-19 daily via nasal swab, also administered temperature checks and symptom screenings.
The list of people requiring daily testing is massive and includes but is not limited to: all players, staff, officials, arena ice crew, security, hotel bartenders, food service staff, arena food and beverage staff, hotel housekeeping, hotel kitchen and food prep staff, and bus drivers. Simply put, any person who has contact or may come into contact (even indirectly) will be tested daily.
With 24 teams inside the bubble (at 52 people per team), that is 1,248 tests required daily for team personnel only. Add in all of the other levels and it is easy to imagine the NHL requiring upwards of 2,000 tests daily to begin the 24-team tournament. That is 20,000 tests in first 10 days alone.
Massive.
