I liked Vats and I hope he does great in Carolina. He played a good amount of top pairing minutes for us. In a better world you might want to put him on the second pair but he can hold it together wherever you play him and eat a lot of minutes. - Queenie_5_hole
yeah the original plan was to have him cover for Skjei on the second pair, but I guess he'll be the offensive guy with Slavin instead. It's nice that he's so versatile. |

If Slavin is solid as a defensive defender (I don't know him well) you should like Vats play. His offensive numbers might not be impressive but he can definitely jump into a play to keep things going. He's showed some nice moves and scored some pretty goals.
Good Luck! |

Chicago has little to no chance. I guess never say never, but how can they hope to stop McDavid and Drai with that defense and goaltending? - willschulme

What a mess!!
Glad you’re in our division.
4 wins already in the bank in September. - bruceflyers
Do some research..You do know that all time the Devils lead this series by a lot .
110 wins for devils
89 wins for flyers
15 ties .
The NJ Devils lead by a wide margin at Home
66-35-6
I think the Devils have had the Flyers number for Quite a while now.
If your only as good as your last game
DEVILS 5 -Flyers 0 |

prob not many NBA fans here, but my Nets season resumes tomorrow, with about 20% of their starting roster, if we include KD, Kyrie, DeAndre, Dinwiddie.
Baseball.. i can barely even count considering the nonsense it has continued to be. 1/3 of the season, Corona knocking teams out, terrible preventative measures observed during games (not sure why hockey players don't wear full shields?).
HOCKEY resumes the day after tomorrow.
idk about any of you other folk with your real lives full of purpose and meaning..
but I AM READY FOR SPORTS to finally be added to the experience of life. |

I have to admit the lack of sports has been missed less then expected. Maybe if the Devils were coming back to play some of these games I'd care more. But with everything going on in the world, I'm not feeling it.

So what are your top 3 teams that you would WANT to win the Cup, in the East and West, and who do you want to win overall?
For me in the East-
1. Tampa Bay- kill their demons, redemption, and Coleman/Stamkos get theirs. I really don't care about anyone else on that team.
2. Columbus- underdogs, and Boone Jenner, and more Torts postgames.
3. Caps- because OV came so close so often.. he deserves another. I like their team, and I'd like Kovy to get one. WHAT???? Yes, because he's a great player, even if he wanted to a terrible thing and go live with his family while making more money. Sometimes you gotta be selfish.
West teams-
1. Blues- for a repeat of Brett Hull "BERNIE FEDERKO, THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!! LETS GO BLUES!!!" "GLORIA..." etc.
2. Vegas- 1 more for Fleury, and for Vegas to get their 1st in just their 3rd season.
3. Minnesota- I'd be happy for Parise, Koivu, Fiala, Suter, and goalies
overall is tough. I really think drunk Hull is making me root for the Blues. I gotta root for Tampa too. Stamkos deserves it, and so does Coleman.. for being the hardest worker on the most ridiculous team (ours). |

The only thing that really matters is you want Arizona to lose to Nashville so we get their pick as low as possible. IF AZ loses the play in they will be one of the 8 teams with a shot at the first overall pick in the second draft lottery. IF they win that we won't get their 1st round pick (unprotected) until next year.
IF you want the Vancouver 1st round pick this year, you want them to win the play in round but lose the next round because they need to make the playoffs for us to get the pick BUT you don't want them going any farther in the playoffs because their pick will move latter in the round if they go farther in the playoffs.
IF you want Vancouver's 1st round pick next year where it will be an unprotected pick then you want them to lose the play in. IF we end up with Vancouver's pick next year and they make the playoffs next year that pick is obviously not in the lottery so it only matters that it's unprotected if Vancouver misses the playoff next season.
Everything else will only affect the picks by a spot or two and aren't worth worrying about.

All of this is correct, except a small correction for one part about the Canucks. They just gotta lose before the conference finals. If they win the play-in, their pick wont fall further back further if they win an additional round, it'll only fall once they get to the final 4.
The only one i'll be watching with a rooting interest is the Yotes/Preds series, dont care about any other series as i dont care if the Canucks pick is this year or next. I'm just going to try to enjoy watching hockey and get my mind off all of the issues going on in the world for a little bit every day |
