No to Larsson. Though his name be holy, his game be poop.
Faksa I have time for. He’d be my preference from this list.
Richardson would be my second pick.
No (frank)ing way on Sutter. Probably the best player on this list, but he’ll probably miss 25-35 games due to injury. Then what will we do? - Wildschwein
What about his game do you take issue with? |

Ah. Well that’s encouraging then.
If he comes back next season, where do you slot him? - Wildschwein
Next to one of the aforementioned Sheahan replacements, maybe. I'd have time for a 3rd line of Ennis/AA- Faksa- Puljujarvi, though that would likely make the HARD defensive zone focus. Maybe something like this:
Nuge- Draisaitl- Yamamoto
Ennis- McDavid- Puljujarvi
AA- Marody- Archie/Kassian
Nygard- Faksa- Chiasson
Haas, Khaira |

That he likes to take every other game off, more or less. My dad follows the Sabres, so I’ve seen more of J Larsson than I’d like to admit. And I seldom like what I’ve seen. |

And yet...
28.19% zone start %
39.67% GF* (44.95% xGF)
49.1% GF from the two most recent seasons
While playing Sheahan-level difficulty of minutes on a worse team than us. If we swapped the two players and their results, the Oilers aren't a sub-50% goal share team at 5-on-5 which would mean a difference of around 10-15 goals. |

I can’t dispute your statistics. Nor do I doubt their authenticity. I can only say that he fails my eye test, though admittedly he did seem more offensively inclined this past season. I attributed it to him simply having a career year. |

This past season he saw a higher than normal % of offensive zone starts (~40% compared to his usual 25-30%) and had pretty consistent linemates.
At the end of the day, what he has done has worked better than what Sheahan has done in a very similar role. My goal is to replace the Sheahan line's ~30% goal share with a line capable of at least 40-43% goal share. As Larsson does that and he's available for just money rather than the assets Faksa would cost, I absolutely consider that. Further, at the risk of pulling another Brodziak, I'd be hesitant of Richardson (due to age). |

Valid points.
I guess it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Hell, I might even come to like a second Larsson in Oiler silks. But I reserve the right to female dog for at least 20 games should this come to pass. |

That right is forever reserved for we the Oilers fans who endured the VERY lean years |

Congrats on the win. Positives to take from both teams. Who do you guys think is winning between flames and jets? |

Jets, mostly because I favour Hellebuyck over either of your goaltenders. |

Can’t catch the games boys/gals/jailbaits, give me the (frank)ing details! - Wildschwein
Jumped out to a 2-0 lead, got complacent for almost two whole periods, then scored two quick goals at the end of the game. |

Flames have the edge on D; Jets have the edge at F and G. Gonna depend how much offense Ehlers can drive from the 2nd line and if their Lowry/Copp combo can rediscover their shutdown game. If they're on their game, those two would be a huge thorn for the Johnny/Money combo. If Helly is off his game, Calgary as a pretty easy in-road to demolishing their weak (but improved) D corps. |

The Hawks definitely aren't looking like they won't push the issue. Their top line of Saad-Toews-Kubalik is a capable outscoring line (head-to-head against Draimoto) and Kane is a 1-man wrecking crew (like McD). Oilers have the edge on D but Crawford is far steadier and more reliable even with his 'injury'. |
