I’m pretty happy with that performance overall. Fairly sound defensively and opportunistic offensively. - Wildschwein
If the Islanders are going to find success they need to find their Defensive identity. |

As I told John, I was away looking for the Isles offense and I found it tonight.
I usually take a long break when no hockey. I figure you guys can use a break. |

Maybe they should try JGP with Barzal on the wing? |

Thank You 7! You missed me because I was away.
You can use many words to describe Isles fans on this Thread but boring is probably not one of them. |

my 2 cents..
Greene has to play. He is a MUCH better player/option than Boychuk and/or Mayfield at this point. I get them not playing Dobson the rookie and that's fine, but Greene's stretch pass to Beau and overall game is way to solid to leave him on the bench.
Pelech looked fantastic... very happy he is back.
The Leddy/Boychuk pairing is just a disgrace. If that stays together for this weekend we are toast.
Mayfield gave the puck away like he was trying to last night.
Both Isles Goalies played great. .. good sign.
Barzal on that back-check when Boychuk made one of his many foolish plays resulted in a 2-on-1 was fantastic. Love seeing that in his game.
Bailey with 2 minutes left in a 1 goal game has puck on his stick on boards near blue line and instead of playing it out of the zone, does a backward pass that gets picked off between the dots..... This is literally 99% of my issue with that clown. He does dumb stuff in the O-zone all the time and it's less maddening. He should have shot a bunch of times and made some dopey no look passes but in O-zone u can call it trying to be "creative". In the D-zone the guy never makes the smart play. Thas to drive Trotz nuts. |

I agree about Greene playing. Very smart and solid player. I never understood coaches and players who think Bailey is this smart player. He does not play a smart and solid game at all and never makes a big play when the team really needs it. |

Good analysis, especially about bailey. He makes some real nice plays, but seems to slip out of gear way too often and flub a pass or do something so odd no teammate is ready for it.
I think Boychuck knows his playing time is about to drop. That could explain why he decided to fight last night. I like his attitude, but too often he's flopping around the ice in front of the net like a fresh caught fish, and 70% of his slap shots hit the boards.
I wasn't impressed with the Isles overall play. Lets hope Fla plays as bad as they did against Tampa. |

Wasn't Boychuk's injury from Lemieux skate? I feel like it was and that was why he hates the guy... Lemieux does this flopping thing waaay too much. It's really friggin embarassing.. this isn't soccer. At least this time he didn't kick his feet up to draw the penalty like he often does too. That's just dumb and dangerous. |

I thought the cut was from the fight.
Lemieux is like his Daddy. Too bad, because the guy has skills.

Look what happened with Marchand once he stepped back from that nonsense. He became a top forward. Pests that go overboard usually end up hurting their team more than helping. |

Greene should be in over boychuk it shouldn't even be a thought at this point. Honestly dobson looked good too and has made a case for himself. I think he starts in the box and if someone is bad he gets the nod |

I thought the Isles D was really good as a team. They need to keep their defensive identity to be successful. I thought Pelech was great and looked like he didn’t mis a step. Isles held Panarin shot less which says a lot. |

Gotta think 6 and 3 are a lock and 25 is too now 55 24 and 2 could be replaced by Greene and dobson |
