Is it possible the Republican Congress has changed since then? Obama made significant (and unfortunate) concessions in his health care proposals thinking that the Republicans in Congress had some readiness to work together. They had none.

obama had a democrat congress and senate at the start of his presidency. if there was a failure, it was not getting it done when he had the control.

politics in the us is poison. neither side wants to make the governing party look good. it's a failure of the system. a bigger issue than any person or any one sitting congress/senate.
