Someone needs to drive Landeskog head first into the boards before he seriously hurts someone. Not that I care if a Blues player is hurt but Landeskogs' hit on Sanford was cheap and he should be susupended. |

Its stupid. But then baseball is chasing fans who have the attention spans of gnats. - Elbows15
I think part of it is reducing the number of pitches a pitcher throws
I mean they only play 162 games in a year, if any sport should end in a tie.... |

You think he'll get suspended, but i guess it doesn't really matter
The real question is what game will Kadri get suspended in once they start a playoff series |

not really tho since they are making relief pitcher face 3 batters. seems like an oxymoron to me.
wanna make the games faster? take the close ups off the batters. tell them to keep their asses in the box. pitchers have 15 seconds to throw the damn ball. |

he should. that hit was blatant. he did nothing to avoid it and even looked like he went out of his way to make exactly that hit. |

Don't disagree with a lot of this, but what do you have 25 man roster and a game every day, 5 starters who pitch 6 to 7 innings if you're lucky, closer who comes in for 1 inning, set up guy who comes in for 1 inning maybe 2, so that leaves you 3 pitchers you juggle and if you have a weak pitching staff they may pitch a lot then all of a sudden you have the 13 to 16 extra inning game and that (frank)s everything up. To me it makes sense. 1 thing i liked about Ozzie he gave his starters Sundays off. Baseball schedule is rediculous |

Maybe he’ll score a couple of goals and they can play “who are you”. By the way nice win by the boys. - Angotti
He could be Caggiula's "Substitute." That's the cure for the "Summertime Blues." |

Blues are just so good at not giving up 2nd or 3rd chances tonight. |

To answer both you and Sage. How many of those guys have the potential to hit 35HR and drive in 130+ runs? He is a classic number 3 hitter. The kind of guy who can put your team out front with a crooked number in the 1st inning. - Elbows15
How many of Betts, Acuna, and Springer have that potential? All of them.
10-20 years ago I’d agree with you. But not these days.
Maybe if the Sox NEEDED his bat in the middle of the lineup, but they don’t. Plenty of other guys to play that role(3-4-5 hitters). |

They really do look much better than they did against us. Not surprising given that this game actually matters. But when they play to their full potential they’re still the best team in the West IMO. |

Do the round robin teams care about winning the...uhhh...round robin?
What’s the major advantage of getting a higher seed? Except for last change (a biggie, yes, but....) I don’t see any advantage to getting home ice in the later rounds - and you don’t know who you going to play of the winning qualifying teams anyways.
I would think these would be glorified exhibition games for them. |

The fact that they re-seed after each round, I would think, would be motivation. |

I see what you’re saying but the Blues definitely put more effort and focus into today’s game than they did against us. I think they see the Avs as their #1 threat and thus took the game much more seriously. |

How are they going to do brackets (and they’re advertising the bracket challenge) if the reseed?
Even if they do - my points stand - not much advantage to being a higher seed. |

I thought that they were using the play-in and round Robin to set the seeding, and then it was set. |

Toronto is going to have a tough time with the Jackets. The forecheck is backbreaking. |

Seth Jones is a horse, gonna win a few Norris Trophies during his career. And more enjoyable to watch is him pounding Auston Mathews every chance he gets. |

"Classic" doesn't really matter. A lot of managers have figured out if your best hitter hits first he will get more at bats. And nobody wants to walk the first batter of the game. Pitchers are often hitting 8th now instead of ninth. The only thing classic about baseball is things change just like anything else.
