"Classic" doesn't really matter. A lot of managers have figured out if your best hitter hits first he will get more at bats. And nobody wants to walk the first batter of the game. Pitchers are often hitting 8th now instead of ninth. The only thing classic about baseball is things change just like anything else. - rpeters01
Pitchers aren’t hitting at all anymore let alone 8th
And who said the word “classic” and why is it in quotations? Did I say it? I’m confused. |

Universal DH? Is this the new norm going forward or is this a one year thing. I was watching the Cubs and the Reds, and they were both using a DH. I do like the 3 batter limit for pitchers. At some points it was like watching the 1/2 hour of the last 2 minutes of a basketball game |

This year only. Though, I believe it is here to stay and this was just a way to get it in without all the fuss |

(Anybody out there a gambler who can tell me what odds I get to bet $100 that there are 4 sweeps?
The Sweeps I am predicting will happen in these series:
Pittsburgh-Montreal
Winnipeg-Calgary
Vancouver-Minnesota
Edmonton-Chicago
- wiz1901
Wiz, until further notice, you are barred from entering any and all casinos, racetracks, and other gambling salons. And do not utilize any online gaming technology.
However, you are allowed to bet Minnesota in Game 1 against the Canucks. - scottak

As much as I hate the Leafs, I want them to win the first round to eliminate them from the Lafrieniere sweepstakes.

Then we should hope for an Oiler victory, so they won’t get a 5th overall #1 in the last 11 drafts.
Even though - like with the previous 4 - nothing good for them is likely to come of it. |

Leafs, Pens, and EDM should not win the lottery. Anybody but them.

Seth Jones is a horse, gonna win a few Norris Trophies during his career. And more enjoyable to watch is him pounding Auston Mathews every chance he gets. - RickJ
A dman like Jones is exactly what the Hawks need. We have drafted some good dmen, but none of them have any size, hopefully we get lucky with Regula. |

Almost as bad was Stevie Y selecting Jonathan Drouin immediately ahead of Jones in the draft. |

Well not really IMO because Sergachev will never ever be as good as Seth Jones.
What Yzerman was able to do after Drouin started whining and crying and decided to go on strike was grab Sergachev in the deal with Montreal who wanted a Francophone for the home market. Drouin has sucked in Hab land most of the time. |

Corey will probably let a Danault shot from the center red line get past him for the game winning goal in game 7.

Is there a better top d-pairing than Jones-Werenski? There are probably higher scoring d-pairings, but as far as locking down their own end and contributing on offense - I'm hard pressed to think of a d-pair I would take over those two.

Coach Wiz (after his successful sweep predictions (cough) ) is suiting 7 defenders because Kaner will be double shifted to get him going...
or, I am letting Entswhilse tenderize them for 8 minutes tonight... |

In their primes, a combo of Keith/Seabrook/Hammer, maybe?

Regula has the size and offensive skill but not phyiscal enough, IMO.
Demin could come closest as far as potential (excellent skating, size, physicality, defensive awareness, puck movement).
Even then, Demin would be hard pressed to be a #1 or even top pair. Maybe the complementary half to a 2nd pair or anchor to a solid 3rd pair. |

I'm actively hoping Montreal wins it. In a down economy, its in the best interest of the league to generate revenue thru the Habs getting a 1st overall, francophone star
... I'd also like to see the Hawks beat the Rangers in the SCF this year |
