What a lucky break. Puck to the net. |

Arizona 82 game pace with Vezina quality goaltending is 96 points, or a bottom tier playoff team and obviously Keumper can't play every game. Their team defensive and attacking stats are average at best, they were never very good. - rmdevil313
Im just saying how important Kuemper was to that team, and it showed heavily when he was out. There's nothing to debate there, that dropoff in quality starts is huge. If he stayed healthy he was 100% a Vezina candidate. They are just a better team with him in the net, they are a playoff level team with him, and they are a non-playoff team without him. Yes i agree they are a bottom tier playoff team, you're saying exactly what i said but in different words, i said they're the 4th worst team in the play-ins. Unfortunately it just so happens that they're playing one of the three teams worse than them |

If the Yotes blow this, that could actually be devastating to them the rest of the series |

I thought you were trying to say they are legit a good team. But even if Keumper could play all 82 games I would hesitate to call them anything other than mediocre. |

I think they can be a good game. I would place them somewhere in between how they started and how they finish. As in i think they arent as good as they were in the first 3ish months but they're better than how they played down the stretch into the pause. Wildcard level team |

They just do SO many dumb things. The passes to players 2 feet away from them, which usually results in a turnover.. The Forsberg going in alone..surrounded by 3 yotes- wheres the rest of the preds?? Everywhere but somewhere useful. They just did it again. WHERE IS THE SUPPORT?? The worst hockey ive seen out of the.. jeeze ive watched all the games so far. |

Screw Hynes. Honestly. What a pathetic performance..but literally looked just like us. The Preds are what we would be with a good top 4, and a little more talent up front. ..which is still terrible with Hynes as coach. |

Round robin games are so boring to watch when coming from the qualifying round games. |

Seems like a lot of underdog wins in game 1s.
Not that shocking after all the time off. |

gotta give the Wild credit. They played a solid game and kept shots to the outside. Vancouver had lots of energy, crisp passes, and did fire off some bombs, just couldn't get much in close.
we are truly doomed. |

Today could be "Sami Vats get us a 4th" day!
Not worried about Vancouver.
If they lose I'm fine with an unprotected pick next year.
More worried about AZ not losing this series because we want that pick to be early in the 1st. |

Agreed, the only one i care about is the AZ pick being early. I actually prefer the VAN pick next year but dont really care either way. All in all im not getting emotionally invested in the outcomes, im just enjoying being able to watch meaningful hockey games again. Its been a fun first 2 days of the games |

Agreed.
And Sami with 2 assists already... and a 4th round pick for us! Which is likely meaningless but free is free!
I wonder if Fitzy tried to resign Vats.

The fourth is a lock, and the way Sami is playing an upgraded third is looking good too; Carolina cannot complain about this based on his play. Arizona has me concerned, Nashville just looked unprepared - sound familiar. Vancouver played well I thought. Both series will be interesting. Calgary and Winnipeg should be fun today as well. |

Goes without saying if the Nashville Devils+Josi blow game 2, the series is 99% over.
Thank you, Vatanen for a 3rd round pick. Now we just have to hope it's a mid-3rd and not a late 3rd. Every draft position matters. Carolina is looking very solid. Good defensively, tons of energy, creating turnovers, playing with poise. I doubt many Devils fans root for Carolina, but it's hard not to like what Rod has done with this club. Good for Mrazek for having a strong 2 games too. |
