Thank you, Vatanen for a 3rd round pick. Now we just have to hope it's a mid-3rd and not a late 3rd. Every draft position matters. Carolina is looking very solid. Good defensively, tons of energy, creating turnovers, playing with poise. I doubt many Devils fans root for Carolina, but it's hard not to like what Rod has done with this club. Good for Mrazek for having a strong 2 games too.

It almost doesn't matter where the Vatanen pick ends up between the 3rd and 4th round. It's on the scouting department to have some good insight on who to select.

What does matter is the AZ pick and we really need Mr. Clean to get his head out of his ass. Nashville is the better team and should win all things being equal. Which they aren't....

Also, can't say I'm exactly rooting for Carolina (because my heart is forever hurt by the two horrific playoff defeats they gave us) but I definitely don't mind watching them stick it to the Rangers. None of which will be enjoyable when they win the second lottery but you need to live in the moment.

yup, yup yup yup. I agree. I concur. It is what it is.
i've been having 2nd thoughts about Nashville. Maybe it's desperation. Maybe I'm insane. They had a good 3rd period. Maybe they can steal back a game tomorrow and even the series?.. get some confidence.. take game 3, then have 2 games to win just 1? would be nice.

One of the biggest games our franchise has had is tomorrow, and we're not even playing. Lose tomorrow and 10th or 11th overall becomes who knows what. A mainstay in the lineup for the next several years.. gone.
