yep, 2 very good coaches

and yet we still hear Habs should not hire french only coaches...

I’m on board with that, I want the best coach available I don’t care which language he speaks as long as he’s fluent in winning.

you do realize that AV won the Jack Adams 2 times, but if Habs don't give him a chance first years ago, he may never have coached in the league.
what other team hires french coaches?

well said. now the question is, how long will it take for the habs organization to think like this as well...

Vigneault was given a chance by the habs, and if french coaches can use this experience as a springboard for their NHL career that's great, but language still shouldn't be a hiring criteria for the habs coaching job imo

I disagree completely. first for the fanbase who doesn't speak french, and they are many, 2nd as a moral obligation to show that it is possible to get to the higher level even if you're a (frank)in frog,

I think if a coach is making enough of a buzz in the minors, teams will hear about him and hire him regardless of where he’s from.

ah yes, very good example
you think leafs fans would go for a chineese coach who doesn't speak english? even if he's the best in the business?

I just don’t think being a frog as you say is a deterrent to being hired anymore. If the best available coach is french speaking then by all means yes, do hire him but if someone would be better suited for the role, go for the better guy.

Just watching Paul Maurice’s take on the Scheifele injury, think it was intentional from Tkatchuk? I know he has a reputation but I don’t think it was...

and I'm sure Benoit Groulx will eventually get his chance somewhere, if it's not with the Lightning. I don't think there's a bias against french coaches in the NHL, if the teams they coach are successful they'll get noticed

We’ll never know because we have no clue what’s happening in chinese hockey lol but as for what’s happening in the LHJMQ, the teams are very aware. Plenty of teams are drafting french-canadian players and they can see what the coaches do as well. Take Julien BriseBois the Lightning DG, he didn’t make it to the NHL with the Habs but the Lightning still came to poach him from the AHL (which is a shame if you ask me).

sorry, but Brisebois was first hired by the Habs. just another proof that if Habs don't give him his first chance, no way he ends up in TB

it's hard to evaluate one's true intentions, but even on slow-motion I don't see the "intent" to injure on the play

hey maybe you're right, and the habs represent the only possible entry point for french coaches in the league, but it's a moot point since I don't think management will be changing their philosophy anytime soon.

I find it sad for the coaches since they don't have the same chance as the others.
but as a fan, it's all good. it gives the Habs the opportunity to hire the best one since no other team will !

oh for sure. this will happen any time Tkachuk is involved in a play where someone gets injured, because of the reputation he has

yeah I guess this is true. you're still shrinking the pond you fish in by exclusively hiring french coaches, but at least you're the only one fishing there lol

speaking of which, i am wondering why the center of attention only warrants minimal coverage here in the states.
