That's the thing, Habs and Leafs haven't met in the playoffs in modern history, now in the same division, its bound to happen and probably repeat itself, which will propel this rivalry above all others

there can be some animosity during regular season games, but true rivalries are definitely built in the playoffs, yes

Some fantastic memories there.... Muller and Damphouse also played big roles in getting the Habs out of that hole.... and Paul Dipietro finished them off in game 6 with the hat trick!

He’s the reason I’m a goaltender and the reason I loved the Habs. That and my dad and bro were massive fans too.

That 86 series was epic! But nothing will touch the special 93 run. Those 10 OT wins......never happen again. Unreal.

No man, game 6! Habs went down 2-0, Dipietro got the hatty in game 6 in Montreal to end the series

Game 5 was a 5- 4 win in OT... Damphouse with the backhand winner!

If I could take a time machine back to February 1986, I'd bet every penny I could find on the Habs to win the Cup that year. The Oilers must've been an overwhelming favourite. I bet a few Habs fans made some money that season. 😉

Personally, Boston hands down. The virulence of the rivalry is unmatched and as someone pointed out, we’ve met them more in the playoffs. That 2014 series (i thin it was 2014)was pure joy to watch...game 7 win in Boston, death threat from Lucic to Weise...ahhhh the good old days lol. The Leafs are getting better now but in the recent past we hadnt lost to them in like 3 years, where’s the fun in that?

Almost a guarantee that they’d win too. It was a total head (frank) for the opposing team. What an unreal run!

Didn't all 4 games against Hasek go to OT? I recall Habs sweeping Buffalo. Mogilny was injured I believe.

Grant Fuhr was playing for them during that series.
