JB has been reduced to flopping around in front of the crease too often, and his slap shot often clears the zone for the opposition. He's a shadow of his former self, and we have him for 2 more years. But he isn't terrible. I guess Greene left an impression. - Puckin_Island
JB's best spot is a 6th or 7th at this point. I want Greene re-signed because he can still play and the Isles gave up a 2nd for him so getting more time out of Greene would be nice. |

Wont be much money left after we re-sign Barzal, Pulock and Toews. Greene would need to be very cheap.

I’d be all for it. But I’m not gonna kid myself; there’s little to no chance Trotz puts him in over Greene. - Wildschwein
I would go with PO experience as well.
That said he may dress 7 dmen just to give Dobson some ice time and PO experience as well. |

Well then, lets do it.....even though the last time Trotz went 7 D it didn't go so well. |

Hopefully Greene at 38 is not looking for a big payday. Have to think he will be fair with the Isles since he likes the area and long association with Lou. It's critical for Bailey to be moved this offseason though. It will help some for a couple of reasons. Still worth looking into moving Leddy as well especially if he can bring back some nice picks to help losing some from the Pageau deal. |

IMO, Leddy at $13.5 mil over 2 years wont get us much. I honestly think the Islanders need a mini rebuild. I don't think Baily is horrible at $5 mil. The vets I would like to see gone are, Komarov, boychuk, Ladd and Leddy, in that order. Good luck pawning those contracts off to another team without sweetening the deal. |

I don't think Bailey is going anywhere. I'm not a fan, and I never have been, but they can't trade him until they can replace his production. Especially since the Isles are a team that struggles to score. |

I wouldn’t say it is critical. Love him, like him or hate him, Bailey is still a cost efficient scorer when his production is compared to his contract. No small thing when you add to that fact that he plays for a team desperate for scoring.
With the Islanders glut of quality defenders (and defensive prospects like Aho and Wilde), I’d argue that moving Leddy (or by some miracle Boychuk) should be a higher priority. Especially as the return for Leddy would likely be better than that garnered by Bailey. |

You think Leddy at $6.5 next year and $7 the year after is desirable?

I cannot take much more of Bailey and opening a spot for Wahlstrom is a plus. If the Isles do not go far this playoff round, Lou really needs to start changing the mix. |

I doubt Bailey gets moved either. I'm not that lucky. Would be interesting to see a Nelson Lee Wahlstrom 2nd line though. Wahlstrom or Bellows need a decent look on a scoring line sooner rather than later. Going to be interesting to see with the Isles quality D and Sorokin next year, does Barry open up the offense a little more? |

His cap hit is 5.5 million per. That’s not terrible. Far from it.

Leddy should have some nice value for more than a few teams. |

Yes I do. I also think Leddy would probably get the Islanders at least a 2nd a B level prospect/solid bottom 6 forward.

that's his cap hit with the Isles because it was averaged over his contract. Once he's traded, the cap hit becomes $6.75 per.

True, but I think that’ll happen regardless if Bailey stays here or not. Martin, Brassard and Kühnhackl are all likely to be gone next season. |

I'll need to see Moose gone before I believe it. He is Barry's playoff warrior.
Can you imagine both Bellows and Wahlstrom on the 3rd line with Pageau next year? Barry's head might explode having 2 young forwards. |

Wow. I don't see that happening, but it would be sweet for us. We may lose Mayfield to expansion because I doubt the Isles protect him.

Bailey isn't even close to having the worst contract on the Isles.
I hope Martin is gone, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lou signs him again.
