The Willy simps are awful quiet tonight.. 🤔
He looked like a little wimp out there. Marner has his moments, but couldn’t put one away. Matthews looked fine. Can’t complain about the Kerf line, but put Engvall in next game. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Nah. Willie played okay and was at least 10x better than Mitch.
Engvall is poop. He has 1g and 0a in his last 21 games. Nick Robertson was one of the few forwards who had a chance tonight. I want to see what else he can do. |

Intensity Joel. The Leafs glide into the zone and float around looking for pretty passes. Columbus powers into the zone and gets all over the defenders. On defense, the Leafs are confused and slow. Columbus blocks the entire middle and attacks the puck carrier.
Just watch the teams play. One team looked like this was a playoff game. - Aetherial
I agree with you. I've also never seen more ridiculous shot attempts from a blueline either, how many times can you bank a puck off of the other teams shinpads before you realize the result is the puck in your zone every time.
But this is what the BJ's do...
I mean (frank)in hell, if I had told you pregame that their defenseman would pinch on us all game, and the leafs wouldnt have a single offensive opportunity out of it? I would have accepted you calling me an idiot. |

Couple close calls. If Robertson shot 5mins in gods in different game all together. Can’t count on lucky bounces all series. Leafs keep going their goals will come. Clb isn’t going to score enough - burn
Cbus hit The iron 3 or 4 times tonight - and Freddie did make some really nice saves .. Leafs were fortunate to only give up a pair. |

That's pretty much it. We didn't get decimated. It was pretty even most of the way through but CBJ did what they do. Good on them. Leafs gotta find a way to get creative. - UsernameUnknown
Leafs gotta get dirty & work for everything. CBJ makes teams do this all the time. There is no simple other answer. They are relentless all 4 lines for 60mins. Stats don’t matter it’s how they win. |

Marner made the Leafs worse when he was on the ice. Nylander was fine, especially in comparison to the Golden Boy. |

No way. Mitch picked it up as the game went on. Willy wasn’t making passes, and looked tiny out there. He started strong then disappeared |

Not gonna get into the Willie debate... But I will confirm, Marner did not have a good game. Not even close... |

Thought Rielly was easily our best defenseman. - Aetherial
Sure, but that's not saying much.
I'm still unimpressed with the narrative that he's a legit 1D. |

People have a hate on for nylander and it’s ridiculous.
Marner was a bust tonight.
Hopefully he can pull his head out of his ass going forward because he has a lot more to offer then what he showed tonight. |

This is Andersen's game: always let a soft, killer one in during the playoffs.
Or sometimes 5. - mjones242
Putting it on Freddie is wrong. 1st shut out in the PO’s. Don’t score don’t win. 1 goal by Freddie was fine. |

Just as unfortunate that they didn’t get more than 4
They had a couple of their own posts and the toe save on Robertson was pure luck |

That's nuts ...Matthews was flying. He needs to find a way to score against Dubois/Jones/Werenski but otherwise he was easily their best skater.
Mikky and Hyman were solid.
I'd give Clifford a handful of shifts with Matthews and tell him to skate hard at Jones and Werenski and get some poop disturbed. - The Law
Matthews relies way too much on his skill, and uses his body well while protecting the puck, but he never ever hits. Always relying on the poke check makes it so much easier for opposing d-men.
Most players played ok in first period but got worse further into the game.

Nylander wears 88. Marner wears 16.
It's a simple mistake and I can see why you made it while watching the game tonight. |
