our 3rd line is junk. kerplunk will get destroyed by the jackets if plays anymore.

our forwards are top heavy and keefe played them as such.

jones and werenski are so much better than anything we have on the defense.

Our D are suspect, that’s for sure. Not terrible but not where I think we need to be.

Barrie is terrible - Ceci isn’t very good but got unlucky with those 2 pims last night
Holl has been ok but it’s such a small sample and he’s been riding shotgun with our best D.

If we get by CBJ it should give them some confidence which will help for the next series.

What’s most concerning is how far Dubas missed the mark on defence. I don’t like the direction he’s taking the team. Keefe can’t coach like Tort’s, it’s a major disadvantage. Leafs had last change, didn’t matter. Imo, Babs would’ve done a better job.

Based on what in the 3 playoff years did he accomplish you liked better than the 1 game you've seen out of Keefe?

I think in 1-2 years we view Kerfoot alone as better than Kadri

Colorado won a series last year with Barrie as their top-used D. Leafs are actually using him much less than the Avs did.

Now you’re just trolling yourself. The only line that had any opportunities against their top D was AM’s line so he threw them out there.

Torts did a great job with what he had. What Keefe had wasn’t completely there and now he’s a bum? Let’s see what he does. IMO he should try to get a transition game going to take advantage of their rushing D and that requires guys on our defence who can make quicker decisions with the puck.

Who else should Dubas be getting on D? He's added Muzzin, Barrie, Lehtonen, Sandin, Ceci in the past year.
Ceci sucks, but saved us a lot of cap. Muzzin trade is a slam-dunk with the extension and Grundstrum sucking in LA.
Sandin and Lehtonen are obviously not at the development stage to judge. They just look like solid moves now.

Because it was 12-5 in shots against when he was in the ice and 2-0 goals for the other team 5v5. Might have a little to do with it, all against the Bruins 2nd line. Sometimes guys just don’t have it that game.

No, the point is to make adjustments that improve the team.

It’s so easy to fixate on line changes. They see how Cbus is playing them. Can they get somebody in front of the net, get back to some better puck movement to maybe open up a bit of a lane and hope something bounces around and in. A goal off Hyman’s ass would be great.
