Yea the team just has no depth. You look around the league the teams 3rd and 4th lines are filled with grizzled playoff tested vets. Rangers have players like pizza making Di Gissepi, McKegg and someone named Fogarty.

If the big dogs don't show up, no chance

True. They have a lot of poop in there. Please play Kravtsov for something exciting to see tomorow

And hopefully they leave Strome in the bubble

If they give him a big contract it will ruin my summer

McKegg, PDG and Gauthier are all guys the Canes looked at this past year and went "Nah, they aren't making this club."
- BINGO!

Yea maybe Gauthier will be good down the line but right now, nah not ready

Trying to come up with positives from this debacle:

1) Hank is done. Its clear to everyone. Hate to agree with Larry Brooks, but he is right --- I don't see any way they bring him back for next season. Guys can debate whether Shesty would have made a difference ( FWIW I think he would ) but first 2 goals for Carolina were softies and that is unacceptable in a playoff game. Convince him to retire, trade him retaining 50% of his salary, buy him out ---- whatever gets him off the roster. Their will be no Hollywood ending here. The positive here is: there is no longer any doubt that Hank is done in NY.

2) Kakko, Gauthier Fox, Lindgren and Howden. The kids have shown up ready to play and this can only be a good learning experience for their future. Hopefully Shesty or Georgi get game 3 for the experience as well. Fogarty is 27 and offered very little today. Lets give Kravstov game 3 too!

3) Brendan Smith upped his trade value. Like Hank, I don't think he is on our roster next season but we can get more than a bag of pucks in return when we move him.

4) Management can clearly see that this team is on the rise, but is not quite ready just yet. By losing these games this way, there is no doubt that the rebuild is NOT over and this upcoming off-season will be crucial for Gorton to continue to re-shape the roster.

Yea you have to, need to try to spark the team anyway you can. Adding some skill to the bottom 6 can't hurt at this point

Neither of these games are Lundqvist's fault at all, whether he's done as a Ranger (or NHL player) or not. The Rangers have scored three goals in two games and that ain't gonna cut it in the playoffs no matter how your goaltender plays

God I hope he pans out, he has size, speed and hands, he puts it together he could be a steal, thus far zero goals

I thought that they dressed Fogarty to help with faceoffs and he didn't even take any and only played him 7 minutes

may as well play Kravstov in that case

but, Lemieux is back tomorrow, so I think he just goes in for Fogarty

They mentioned PK replacement for Fast in the pregame, as to why he was in.

there is a difference to, "it's Hank's fault" and "they would have played better if Igor dressed"

Strome has to go. Fast is gone too unfortunately. But Strome is a very replaceable player. A dime a dozen 3rd line center. Panarin is the straw that stirred that line. Chytil has to make that next step next year, 2C behind Zib.

I don't think it would have mattered one iota with how the team played.

I'm not some guy who thinks Hank should be here after this last game tomorrow, but no one will convince me we had any chance even with Shesty in net specifically these last 2 games

Yea not going to lie, I want no part of Strome but not sure if we want to be a playoff team if we can count on Chytill being the 2nd line center yet

Would you guys do Strome and Deangelo for Gaudreau and Hamonic, or kylington?

I just have a feeling Rangers and Flames make a trade.

Edit: nvm on Hamonic, he’s a UFA lol.

Really don't think it would be wise to let Fast go. We need vets that play hard and can play all situations on any line. Doesn't matter he looks like he is 15, he is a vet

If they don't re-sign Strome and find a way to get Hank off the books, think there would be plenty of money
