I think your bias clearly is showing. How many cups has Crawford won ? 2. He never gets the recognition that certain other players get whom have never won 1 or consistently took his team to multiple finals.

Lundquist, Price as examples. Crawford was ou with 2 concussions that's huge for any player but right before the shutdown Crawford found his groove.

And with only 1 games to prepare for this tournament I'd say he did well.

While Edmonton has leon and McDavid that's all great but experience, they don't even come close to matching Chicago's core .

I think Pitty is in better shape because they are a championship team. They know what it takes, as do the Hawks. Also the Hawks are a better team than the Habs. I will say this. The Oilers lost game 4 to San Jose 7-1 last time they were in playoffs evening the series at 2-2. Seven to freaking one. They were outshot something like 41-19 that game. They answered by winning the next two games and won the series. I wouldn't count the Oil out just yet.

It is a team sport but you still need your goalie to make the saves he should and when its tight or your team is being outplayed crawford never cracked under pressure. It's rare you get a high scoring playoff series maybe game 1 but its usually a 1-0 or 3-2 game . I'm just pointing out that crawford has 2 cups and doesn't get the respect he earned...

What sets proven goalies apart is their ability to rise to the challenge and win.


I just think price and lundquist even rask are very overrated .

I'm sure chicago fully expects Edmonton to be more focused . The question for Edmonton is can they mentally handle the pressure and understand that it's going to be a tight game .

My guess is Chicagos core has a chip on their shoulder and getting this gift will allow them to prove to the league they can still win maybe not the cup but a round or 2 and if things happen. Who knows maybe they make it to the cup . Crawford is a lightsout great playoff goalie

Christ sake the "best player" this season was on the ice for more goals against than for. Some of you watch too many youtube highlights and fanboy media then actual hockey games. Many of us saw game one coming from a mile away.

Maybe the Oilers can squeak by a 12 seed that traded players at the deadline but to suggest they might actually beat a team like the Avs or Blues is laughable

I don't think it's a question of skill, I think it is a question of experience and of having a will to win.

McDavid was okay...he could surely do better but he wasn't the problem. I strongly believe that the bottom 6-9 players feed off of the top players and in CHI you have vets that clearly are not done winning and that attitude is infectious...and the youth are buying in.

On EDM, you have the bottom and younger players watching their leading scorer give what seems to be 40% effort...which is also infectious. The goaltending sucked, but Draisaitl has to move his feet. I just think it's too late to turn this around. I hope I am wrong.

Is that the 40% you are talking about?
That's hardly something you can overcome with a few PP goals.
The Oils are not good 5v5 which is where most of the series is played.

I can't say that CHI has this sown up, but unless the Oilers learn how to play at even strength, this will be a short series. If EDM manages to win this series, the next actual 1st round will be a short series for them. The top 4 is going to decide the West.
