As has Khaira. Surprisingly so.

Yeah, I'll even extend that credit to Neal. Been active and hitting (and cross-checking) everything he sees. Kassian has been better but I won't exempt him until he lays the body some more. He's at least got the cycle going again.

Kassian's line has been pretty effective tonight. Seems like they're always in Chicago's zone. They need go for the jugular though.

A strong forecheck goes a long way in stopping the Hawks. They spend 2/3’s of their shift trying to exit their zone.

Yamamoto's determination is something else. At 5'8 you gotta excel at something, and his drive is (frank)ing insane.

Edit: Yamamoto has to just chip that down the ice

Nurse made the right call covering the pass. KK just made a shot that he probably usually doesn't make.

Semi soft goal from Koskinen. He would like to have that one back.

I'm sure he would, but I won't fault him losing the occasional 1-on-1 duel with a shooter whose tendencies DEFINITELY wouldn't be at the top of his mind. He's made enough saves on quality chances to earn the benefit of the doubt for now.

Agree completely. Especially considering the alternative.

That one I'll fault him on

Though Russell deflecting it doesn't help.

Was gonna say...

How many friendly fire goals has Russell scored since he signed his extension?

Technically yes. But I still think it’s no penalty.

He was directing it upwards. Get him for holding the stick then.

It's irritating when refs pick and choose penalties depending on when a team is winning or not.

I don't disagree but then you'd have the precedent set for changing a call to another one and I don't know that they want to open that can of worms.

Kane and Toews look gassed from huge pp minutes. Oilers will ride roughshod over the Hawks in the 3rd period. Maybe 7-4.

Hawks will double shift Kane at times in 3rd period. It will give Oilers multiple opportunities in the 3rd period.
