Another thing to whine about.

Why don't we know what the Thursday time schedule is yet?

Trying to plan my life here.

Trade Marner for Tkachuk. If Calgary would agree.

Are you just saying in general with Covid?

Because the NBA is scheduled out to over a week from now.

You know what else has been going on for years.

Losing.

Perhaps when they prove they can sack-up and win something important, people will change their tune.

I would trade Matthews for Jones.

Probably a bad mistake, but I think Matthews contract is terrifying.

No way in hell Marner fetches Jones.

- Aetherial

Doubt Jones will be traded by Columbus, and I wouldn't trade Matthews in any event. He was easily the best leaf forward in Game one. I would change the strategy a little from game one though. Columbus did focus alot of attention on Matthews with some hacks and wacks and shots thrown in. Nothing called - playoff hockey -cool.

Why not do the same to Jones? Continue to dump the puck in, especially to his corner. Then as soon as he touches it - he gets creamed into the boards. Nothing too dirty, just marginal - same stuff as Matthews got in game one. No revenge, just playoff hockey and make sure he pays a price if he touches the puck

Leafs need some snarl. Pushback. Physicality. You hate to say it because it sounds cliche, but the Leafs need grit or sandpaper. Not a roster full of it, but just one or two guys who lay people out and drop the gloves.

Case in point, the Lightning. They are not gonna be pushed around any more. Tom Wilson got stupid and Cernak ran him into the bench and gave him the old push down and armpit move. Get your face in it, smell it, love it, revel in it. Oshie got stupid and Gourde dropped the gloves with him. McDonagh, Bogosian, Maroon were finishing checks hard. Washington did not dominate physically like they did in years past.

Although, goddammit, Cooper has chained Bogosian to Hedman. It's like Letang hauling Jack Johnson around. Why Coop insists on hobbling his best mobile d-man with a pylon is beyond me, but it worked this time. Dotchin, Girardi, and now Bogo. Phuck.

I’m not sure about that.. knowing the Leafs they’ll probably get caught out of position and running around, that’s really not what they wanna be doing.

I have and will continue to advocate for crashing the net, A few after the whistle whacks at Korpasalos pads.. A few face washes.. some general ugliness..

That’s the Leaf way... could’ve used Kadri last night though. Wasn’t a fan of that trade when it happened and when Barrie leaves, it’ll look worse.

Could’ve used Kadri the past two playoffs. He didn’t want to play for the team, though.

Kadri kept getting suspended that's why he's gone. Leafs needed him bad the past 2 years.

Kerfoot has actually been very good.

What's also funny is Mark Spector-AKA #1 Oilers fan ripping Mcdavid and saying he needs to do more after 4 points in game 1.

Get a proper supporting cast. 2 superstars may work ok in basketball, not in NHL.

Also, as great as Draisaitl is, he's never heard of playing D or know how to do it.

I like the idea. I think the Leafs just dont know how to play on that "edge". They tried to do it against Boston and it didn't work. They can't seem to toe the line.

We aren't "contemplating" it.

Context is important. The context is that contract. 3 years from now, they will have to make a choice, keep him or risk losing him for nothing the end of the following year. If they take that risk, I believe he will walk.

The contract is problematic.
