Not the biggest fan of rielly/Barrie.... But it did work much much better than rielly/ceci - joel878
Need more quickness back there to start breakouts before the forecheck gets going. Either quick little outlet passes or stretch passes if their D have joined the rush. If only we had someone like that sitting in the press box.

Roeper doing his taxes...
Roeper: it says here that I owe the government $5458?
Government: Yes. Please pay this by the last day of the month.
Roeper: But I thought I was in tax hell! All I heard all year was I was going to be tax offer sheeted!
Government: Uh sir, I don't know what a tax offer sheet is. Please pay what you owe. Thank you.
Roeper: But what about Lou on the Island? He's so screwed! He's in tax hell!
Government: Sir, I don't know who Lou is nor do I know anything about an Island. I do know that you owe $5458.
Roeper: That's not true! According to my calculations I only owe $545.80! I'm not in tax hell! You are!
Government: No. Your numbers are not accurate. You will be charged with income tax evasion if you don't pay us what you owe.
Roeper: Isn't it funny how Canucks fans make fun of my taxes when they are in tax Cap hell? - gergeswillems
I have never understood how pointing out some other person/team/organization is in a bad position, somehow magically makes your own bad position "OK".
Leafs are certainly not the only team with flaws, or cap issues, but they definitely do have flaws and not a ton of flexibility to address them given the flat cap.
Then the usual suspects here mock anyone for suggesting that they may have to trade a big-name forward.

I suggested the Leafs trade Nylander for a top 4 defenseman after they signed Tavares but that didn't go over too well.

But people everywhere act like their flaws are bigger than every other team. The cap discussion alone proves this. Leafs without a doubt are the #1 choice for "Cap Hell". And it's funny, they were deemed in "Cap hell" once they had Nylander/Matthews/marner all playing in 2016-17. No one is doing that for teams like the Canucks or Rangers.

His value was at it's lowest ever. Never trade a 22 year-old like that.
Compare his value now to a year ago, think Dubas can't trade him?
The annoying thing is, no one ever names this mysterious "top 4 D". Jack Haan revealed 2 days ago Montour was offered for Nylander. No thanks. - RogerRoeper

Dougie Hamilton, but I remember some in here thinking he might not even be a top 4 D 🤦🏻

Yeah, this mythical stud D partner to play with Rielly is only going to grow in lure the more we see Jones/Werenski shutting down Matthews' line.
