But people everywhere act like their flaws are bigger than every other team. The cap discussion alone proves this. Leafs without a doubt are the #1 choice for "Cap Hell". And it's funny, they were deemed in "Cap hell" once they had Nylander/Matthews/marner all playing in 2016-17. No one is doing that for teams like the Canucks or Rangers. - RogerRoeper
Leaf fans don’t care about those teams, I’m sure they have fans that care...just a lot less of them. |

Dougie Hamilton, but I remember some in here thinking he might not even be a top 4 D 🤦🏻 - Garnie
In fairness, Dougie was traded twice already and evertone wondered why he was stagnating. Not sure those Hamilton rumours are true. I do trust the Montour one beacuse it comes from a guy who worked for the Leafs. |

Yes they do care about those teams. They are competition.
My point is reading the media constantly with their doom and gloom crap about the Leaf that so many other teams have issues.

I suggested the Leafs trade Nylander for a top 4 defenseman after they signed Tavares but that didn't go over too well. - gergeswillems
I was informed yesterday that we do not need to make a trade for a top 4 defenseman, because many will be available at the NHL defenseman store in November, and they will all be willing to play in Toronto for a fraction of their value.
So eat it, Gerges.
Eat it hard. |

Leaf fans getting so much more efficient. Writing off series and firing everyone after one game. - Canada Cup
I saved my Hockeybuzz posts from the first Leafs choke to Boston.
I just cut and paste them in here every year now.
Oddly enough, none of you have noticed the difference, because they are still hauntingly accurate.
Lack of heart.
Poor team defence.

Voila, booted out of the playoffs! |

Dubnas traded and signed long-term one excellent top 4 D who is big, lays lots of hits and strong defensively. It is hard to find these guys, but it worked out great. He will find another if needed. |

Straight from Jack Haan. one for one Montour for Nylander. Montour blows. Dubas would have been ripped so bad for that and all the Dubas haters would have jumped at taht trade and wanted him to do it. |

Don’t read the media so much, they get paid to come up with content and we’re the biggest fan base. |

You never suggested any name, just "Top 4 D" like so many others.
Brandon Montour is the type of D available. |

If the Hamilton trade was there ( not saying it was, but there were rumblings) that’s a huge miss on our part.

Took a look at how the B's beat Columbus last year.
CLB was no different ...tight checking low scoring wins are their playoff forte.
They grind out tight wins and outshot the B's most nights.
B's beat them with stellar goaltending from Rask, by scoring the first goal in all their wins and winning the special teams battles.
First goal is always huge but even more so against the BJ's.

Pesce sucks. Terrible trade. I know PIerre Lebrun started that hype train. He looked good because of his D partner

Here's why I think Columbus looked so much worse in 2nd round: NHL schedule. They had way too much time off after a sweep and lost all momentum. That's often worse than going 7 games. It happened to Vegas in the finals the year prior. Not scientific answer and no stats involved, but it's death for teams.
That's why 93 Leafs did so well. They played every 2nd night. |
