I can see Strome being dealt for another former 1st round pick, just not him. Maybe Roslovic from Winnipeg? - DarthKane

Nylander and JC are very bad, Maatta and KK are not very good but with the cap and 32 teams it is kind of a thing, Boqvist has had a poor showing and Highmore is a body.
De Haan has played well especially considering he had a major shoulder operation again this year. Debrincat has been good since they got him away from Nylander and Kampf is fine as a 4th liner.
The game last night was hilarious. The good chances they had they either hit iron or flat out biffed and Toews gets 2 fluke ass goals.
Its fun to see them win in spite of some of the other nonsense and hopefully they at least make it entertaining and don't get completely embarrassed in the next round. - fattybeef
And Debrinkat sucks!

Or Strome to the Sabres for former 1st rounder Mittelstadt. Bowman loves his reclamation projects.
Someone suggested trading Strome to the Habs. Montreal has a surplus of centers (i.e. Domi, Danault, Kotkaniemi, Suzuki, Poehling) so not sure if that fills a need for them but wouldn't mind a 1-for-1 swap of Strome for Domi, Suzuki, or Poehling.
The Habs wouldn't trade Danault or Kotkaniemi. Possibly Suzuki, too, the way he is surging. - AEL_Fox
How about Strome to the Sabres for Dominic Kahun, or Strome to the Rangers so he can unite with his brother for Buchnavich.

Oilers complaining about the non-call on Dach’s hit on Ennis - comparing it to Yamamoto’s hit on Murphy from behind.
I don’t see the comparison - Yamamoto had plenty of time to avoid the cross-check - Murphy’s back was to him - Ennius ducked at the end of Dach’s check attempt. - StLBravesFan
Ennis had the puck Murphy did not. |

What i do know and i really appreciate is Dach plays defense and in front of the play unlike Strome who is always behind the play. He definitely will keep getting minutes as my coach always preached defense and effort never slump - BetweenTheDots
Players "always behind the play" don't pace out to 50 point seasons fwiw. |

Hey I suggested that Strome for Buchenivich trade when TC was doing his armchair GM series during the hiatus. Great minds think alike. |

Watching Leafs Jackets and Nylander gets checked hard in the ozone.
Savard is laying on top of him and gives him an extra forearm to the back of the head then gets up. That is the crap the NHL needs to clean up if they actually cared. Meat head play by play laughs and says that’s normal playoff hockey.
There is nothing normal about a forearm to the back of a guys head who is laying on the ice. It wasn’t egregious but it shouldn’t be permitted in today’s NHL. Even if it’s not caught in real time it’s stuff like that the league should review and take care of after the fact. That would make that stuff go away.
The NFL cleaned up that kind of dirty crap years ago. |

Agree, Strome is not a 3C unless he somehow improves his defense significantly and leverages his offensive skills, vision, and IQ more to offset his lack of foot speed.
Otherwise, it would be worth exploring other options. Kurashev has great potential with his solid 3-zone play, skating ability, compete level, and capacity to contribute around a 0.50 PPG pace.
Down the line, Wise could be an option if he continues to develop at BU then marinate a bit in the AHL. His skillset is similar to Kurashev's but injuries have derailed his trajectory.
The draft is another area. This is where I wouldn't discount Lundell at the 9th spot or later (if he's still available). By most accounts, he seems NHL ready and projected to be at least a solid 3C with a 2C ceiling.
Either way, if Strome is not extended, his replacement should be a middle 6 center so that over time Dach goes up to 1C and Toews down to 3C. Even if Toews ends his career as a 2C, then that's just a big plus. The replacement plays either 2C or 3C. - AEL_Fox
Strome was a John Chayka draft selection mistake at #3 overall (ahead of Mitch Marner), likely based on all of the points he accumulated with Erie during the years McDavid, ADB, Taylor Raddysh played there. As soon as Rick Tocchett saw what he had he sent him to the AHL for most of the time before Stanbo came along.
Strome is like Greg McKegg, Freddie Gauthier and a bunch of other guys who were high draft picks that just don't have the foot speed to be effective in today's NHL. I don't see giving him away but other teams around the NHL know the Strome profile and they aren't going to pay much in trade.
Big mistake if Stanbo signs him for term and anything more than $2M for a year or 2. Kurashev will be a better player sooner than later. |

From ESPN:
"Artemi Panarin had a power-play goal and a secondary assist on a short-handed goal against Carolina, but a player who made his MVP case on even-strength scoring didn't have a 5-on-5 point against the Hurricanes and was a minus-3".
Could be the 2nd playoff year in a row that the MVP (if AP wins) flames out in the 1st round. |

Personally i wouldn't give up on him, definitely agree on a favorable contract for the team. Hopefully over time he becomes a defensively better player. |

The Leafs blow a 3-0 lead to lose 4-3 in OT against the Jackets. Series is now 2-1 Columbus.
Leafs fans won’t be happy right now, but that series isn’t over. |

What a great defensive play by Texier on Tavares, just taking the puck away and starting the breakaway |

Nothing too much more enjoyable in sports than watching another Maple Leaf meltdown. Do you have any photos of Mike Babcock laughing with a ' I told ya so look on his face?'

How about the Hawks hang on to Strome?
Hes 23 years old and has produce offensively in his short time in the league/2nd full season
The Hawks NEED talented players and depth. They also need consistency
You dont get better as a team when you turn over 10-12 players every year. That doesn't do JC any favors
It's fun watching them win but it kind of sucks that I'd want them to lose and get that 1st pick
They land that kid Lafreniere the team just got a whole lot deeper - with Strome
Kubilak-Toews-Saad
Lafreniere-Dach-Kane
Debrincat-Strome-Shaw - which I believe was the line they wanted together this past year as line 2
Both Toews and Dach - if he improves his draws - will get able to match up vs other teams top lines
So the 3rd line doesn't need to be some sort of a checking line

Strome is not 3rd line checking center plus where did we get lafeniere when it will be rigged so Montreal will get the home town boy. At best hawks get 9th overall pick. |

With Vegas beating the blues, that puts both Vegas and Colorado to compete for Seeds 1 and 2.
Dallas and St. Louis will compete for seeds 3 and 4.
If we make it past EDM, who do you think is a better matchup for us? |

That's a good point. If someone did that to a previously concussed player like Toews and reinjured him I would be furious. |

A lot has to do with signing him, but big skilled guys like him are needed and he can play for me anytime and on the wing too, if the contract is right... |

I think either the Avs or Knights would beat us rather easily in no more than 5 games. |

I agree...however, every game the Hawks survive, brings opportunities for the other teams to beat each other up. |
