Have you figured out that after like 5 months your dumbass self is still the only person on this entire site to have found that to be a thing...?

So I'm not the only one that had no (frank)ing idea what he was talking about.

It was a crosscheck.

The thing is that same play happens all the time and league has chosen to let it go in all but the most egregious violations.

This isn't on Dubois. It is on the refs, and therefore the league, for the ridiculous way penalty calls are made. On the other side of the ledger, Kyle Clifford definitely deserved a penalty for the hit he threw early in the game.

A penalty decision should be easy. Was there an infraction? Yes? then call a penalty.

Unfortunately the NHL's system of officiating brings into play a whole host of other factors including the score, the time of the game, how many calls have been made against each team, player's reputation, player's value to the team, Team's reputation, playoffs or non-playoffs, how much the coach argued earlier and probably a few more things that should not be considered.

The whole thing is ridiculous, but this isn't on Dubois.

Totally agree, the constant cross checking in the game should be shut down. Ridiculous how much it happens and 95% of the time nothing gets called.

TSN article last night said the covid protocols don't even guarantee 4 days. The hub coordinators review each emergency situation independently and make a decision based on possible exposure, etc.

He could be done for the year or back next game... Or anything in between.

real nhl policy:

broons players - back for the next game.

everyone else: 4 days (unless they're playing the broons. than 8 days).

Imagine if it was Kadri who delivered the crosscheck.

Muzzin took a puck in the face, I said the way it was a dead shot to his jaw could have fractured his jaw.

That (frank)ing dunce has been trying to jump on that for some reason ever since as if I was Max pronouncing his death, and he can't let it go. Yet, I've yet to see anyone else say a word.

In typical creten fashion his moment has finally arrived and he's passing on the opportunity to jump on max's commentary, and is still obsessing over the jaw as if someone else might finally be like 'oh right Joel said his jaw could have broke!' and his fruitless attempts to have a friend might find a payoff.

Yet crickets and he's still a redneck (frank) and nobody likes him.

And you're actually not even exaggerating. But a little tap on the glove and it's called all the time. Makes you wonder if those making the rules ever played the game...

I get that Dubois crosscheck doesn’t warrant a suspension...but from this point onwards I’d be completely fine with that being a suspendible play.

Another useless dangerous play that needs to be taken out of the game, it doesn’t offer any benefit, just risk.

NHL player safety will have Nazem Kadri in for a hearing for Pierre-Luc Dubois' hit on Jake Muzzin from game 2 of the Leafs/Jackets game. Minimum 5 game suspension expected.

I’d rather bloody some noses and talk about how a team that is bigger wins sometimes against a team that is smaller.

We've seen the leafs do these one off games where everyone plays well, they have a good defensive game etc.
But their archilles heel is doing it consistently...or even over a couple of games.
We'll see how they respond in game 3....do they sit back...or attack like they did in Game 2?

- Fakepartofme

The past 3 games they’ve only allowed 3 goals.

TB and two against CBJs. Small sample size but they have a 3 game streak in playoff atmosphere games playing good D.

This is all about adjustments. Keefe took Torts to school last games...let’s see who wins next game.

Yup.

It’s a dangerous play regardless, and the player receiving the crosscheck has zero chance to protect themselves.

It’s a play that most of the time, is just a player that falls to the ice but then you have moments like this where is could severely hurt someone.

Time to make this play suspendible.

i think just calling cross checks when they happen would have prevented that injury.

injuries will happen from time to time.

I think you can find the same lack of consistency puts players at risk across the board.

Slashing was acceptable to the hands until methot almost lost a digit...
