I like Gaud, he's gonna be a good player, but ya, seemed overwhelmed. But he looked like that his first year here – he'll grow into it.

He seems a quick learner. If back in look to see more skating & hard work.

If Pittsburgh somehow loses this series, do they shake it up with a big trade? Got swept last year, lose to a terrible seed this year.. no prospects and keep trading away picks...
- NewYorkNuck

Big trade who?

By that, do you mean put on some muscle.
I am doubtful he will be anything more than a gap-filler.
Centre depth is a bit concerning in this organization, which should keep him around due to that fact.

Put on some muscle, learn his craft, get more confidence. He's only 23 and a former Hobey winner. He's not coming in guns blazing like Hughes or Petey, but he has a lot of potential and not many guys on the team match his drive.

I like him. I don't think he's a saviour but a solid contributor moving forward. I just don't see a need to rush his development.

Edit: Is he going to be one of the top 12 forwards on the ice? Will he be if he plays C?

Sure he has a good drive and a bit of talent, just not a fan of him.
Not going to start criticizing players on Canucks, I may end up hurting someone's feelings, or getting called a non-fan.
I understand his age is 23, but he is also only 6 weeks younger than Jake, who most want to get rid of, even though he is only 23.

The gap-filling label is appropriate if he doesn't develop. However I don't think his development is very important relative to the success of the team. He might become something more but it's hardly a given.

I feel JV is being given every opportunity. It's up to him to run with it. There has already been much more given to his development than almost anyone else on the team. Personally I'd like to see one more year from him before we run him out of town, but that's me.

I agree. We saw something new from him this year. Take the time to see if he can repeat/improve, if not cut your losses.

My much too early 2020/21 wish list...

Some minor tweaks might be needed but you’ll get the gist. Just cannot resist 😂

I like it, but I see a lot of term/salary that guys will not take.

love to see them lose and hawks are much less of a threat, also helps our seeding if they get in(I'm fairly sure)

Canadiens got a real chance at an upset, what an effort all around. Not a team I like, but still.

I think Karlson has the best chance to fill the 3C spot. Kid has a pretty decent all-around game. Focht may turnout alright.

Needs to make the SHL before I can give him consideration. As for Focht do very well in Utica whenever it gets running. Costmar has made significant strides but it has to continue. All in all any of the 3 could be a cheap future 4C. If any excels then 3C potential & Gaudette has competition.
